Greece, Poland stadia to host UEFA shows

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Executive Committee has announced that the Agia Sophia Stadium in Athens (AEK stadium) (Greece) and the Stadion Wrocław (WKS Śląsk Wrocław) (Poland) as venues for the UEFA Europa Conference League finals in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

‘UEFA’ stated that as the stadium in Athens is brand-new and never operated by the AEK Athens F.C. in an international context, the UEFA will provide expertise.

The UEFA Europa Conference League, which will be renamed the UEFA Conference League from the 2024-2025 seasons, is an annual football club competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs.

‘UEFA’ further stated that an observation period until November 2023 at matches played by AEK Athens F.C. in the UEFA club competition for which they will qualify, and by the Greek national team in the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers, has been added as a condition for the confirmation of the appointment, which would happen in December.

The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA EURO 2024 or simply EURO 2024, will be the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organized by the UEFA for the men’s national teams of its member-associations. It will be hosted by Germany and will be held from June 14th-July 14th, 2024.
