London (UK) will provide the stage for a landmark Summer of international hockey in 2027 with two world-class venues hosting the sport’s best players as EuroChamps27 come to the capital.

‘quins.co.uk’ stated that spanning purpose-built Olympic legacy facilities and one of English sport’s most recognizable rugby stadiums the championships will unfold across a unique dual-venue format that celebrates both the heritage and the innovation of the game. The fans can expect world-class competition, unforgettable atmospheres and a festival of hockey delivered in venues with proven pedigree for hosting the biggest moments in international sport.

EuroChamps27, the EuroHockey Championships, will take place in London (UK) from July 28th-August 8th, 2027 bringing together Europe’s best Men’s, Women’s and Hockey Intellectual Disability (ID) teams for a landmark Summer of international hockey.

‘quins.co.uk’ further stated that the opening phase of the Championships will be staged at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, a venue synonymous with international hockey and a cornerstone of England’s sporting infrastructure. Home to England Hockey’s international events for more than a decade, the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre is widely regarded as one of the finest hockey venues in the world.

The 15,000-capacity Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre is a sports and leisure venue located in Leyton, London Borough of Waltham Forest to the North of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (UK). It is regularly used for international field hockey fixtures by both the Great Britain Men’s and Women’s field hockey teams.

As the Championships reach their climax the focus will shift to The Twickenham Stoop where the tournament’s Semi-Finals and Finals will be played marking the return of Big Stadium Hockey to the United Kingdom.

The 14,800-capacity Twickenham Stoop Stadium (informally referred to as The Stoop) is a stadium located in Twickenham in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (UK).

The Twickenham Stoop will be transformed into a world-class hockey arena using innovative pitch technology recreating the scale and drama required for the biggest matches in European hockey. The venue previously hosted England Hockey’s International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey Pro League in 2019 demonstrating its ability to deliver elite hockey in a major stadium environment.

Stated Laurie Dalrymple, Chief Executive Officer, Harlequins FC, “We’re proud to welcome the EuroHockey Championships to The Twickenham Stoop and to be part of the return of Big Stadium Hockey to the UK. The Stoop has a strong history of hosting major international sport and following the success of the FIH Hockey Pro League here in 2019 we’re excited to once again transform the stadium into a world-class stage for hockey. Hosting the Semi-Finals and Finals of the championships will create a memorable and dramatic setting for the tournament’s biggest moments and we’re delighted to be working with England Hockey (the national governing body for the sport of field hockey in England) and EuroHockey (the governing body for hockey in Europe) to deliver an outstanding experience for the players and the fans.”

Harlequins (officially the Harlequin Football Club) is a professional rugby union club that plays in the Gallagher PREM, the top level of English rugby union. The Twickenham Stoop serves as their home venue.

Together, the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre and The Twickenham Stoop will deliver a tournament experience that combines intensity and spectacle – showcasing European hockey in venues worthy of its biggest ever stage.

The fans eager to be part of this landmark Summer of hockey can register their interest now with those who sign up receiving priority access to ticket pre-sales in Spring 2026 ahead of general release.
