The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team Kansas City Current (US) unveiled more details about its new stadium recently, including new renderings for a premium club area.

‘kshb.com’ stated that The Pitch Club promises “an unparalleled matchday view” near the playing field, which will provide fans “behind-the-scenes access”.

The 18,467-capacity Children’s Mercy Park is a soccer-specific stadium in Kansas City, Kansas, United States, and serves as the home ground of the Kansas City Current. The stadium is located near the Kansas Speedway, on the far West side of Wyandotte County, Kansas.

The Pitch Club at the KC Current Stadium reimagines exclusivity and proximity in sports entertainment. A Pitch Club membership is one’s pass to a center stage seat, putting one just feet from the pitch and the best women’s soccer players in the world.

‘kshb.com’ further stated that the new renderings are the first look at the exclusive space, which will be part of the first purpose-built stadium for a professional women’s sports team when it opens next year in the Berkley Riverfront Park.

Chef-Owners Megan and Colby Garrelts of Rye KC will determine the Pitch Club’s menu, which will rotate and include a custom-made cocktail list.

Kansas (US)-based Rye is a restaurant celebrating Midwestern recipes, traditions and culture using the local Kansas and Missouri flavors and farmers. Rye has two locations, the original in Leawood, Kansas established in 2012 is located in the Mission Farms Center and Rye Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri opened in 2017. Rye showcases the Midwestern foods that chefs Megan and Colby Garrelts grew up eating. Both of these chefs are proud to be from the Midwest and Rye gives them the opportunity to feature dishes that they have enjoyed with several generations of their families.

Current co-owner Angie Long said in a statement, “The premium design and amenities showcase the best of Kansas City. Its decor is inspired by our City’s heritage and the food and beverage offering is led by James Beard award winning chefs Colby and Megan Garrelts. We can’t wait to spend time with everyone in this special space.”

The space has an art deco feel with a nod to the 1920s, which was inspired by the old images of the Union Station (Kansas City’s most celebrated destination). It will also prominently feature the Kansas City history along with the history of women’s soccer’s progress.
