Luton Town Power Court dream draw near

The English Football League (EFL) League One team – the Luton Town Football Club – is set to begin construction this Summer on a brand-new 25,000-capacity stadium at Power Court in Luton, Bedfordshire (UK) marking a new chapter in the club’s history.

‘LUTON TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB’ stated that the club’s development arm – the 2020 Developments – has agreed on a pre-construction services partnership with the Limak International, a rapidly growing company with a background of complex, global, world-class infrastructure, including the redevelopment of the LaLiga team FC Barcelona’s iconic home ground – the 105,000-capacity Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain.

Preston (UK)-based the English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League it is the oldest football league in the world and was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992 when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League (the highest level of the English football league system). The Football League was rebranded as the ‘English Football League’ (EFL) starting with the 2016-2017 seasons.

The Luton Town Football Club is a professional football club from Luton, Bedfordshire, England (UK). The club currently competes in the EFL League One, the third level of the English football league system.

The 12,056-capacity Kenilworth Road, also known as The Kenny, is an association football stadium in Bury Park, Luton, Bedfordshire, England (UK). It has been the home ground of the Luton Town F.C. since 1905.

The 25,000-capacity Power Court Stadium is a planned football stadium to come up in Luton, Bedfordshire (UK) that will become the home ground for the Luton Town F.C. ahead of the 2028-2029 seasons replacing the Kenilworth Road, the club’s home since 1905.

‘LUTON TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB’ further stated that it is intended that the new stadium will hold its first competitive game at the start of the 2028-2029 seasons giving the supporters a state-of-the-art venue to call home.

This move is central to the Board’s original vision for the club’s future – supporting Luton Town’s ambition to reach and maintain a place in the Premier League and enhancing the matchday experience for all fans.

Beyond football the project will act as a catalyst for townwide regeneration with plans for new homes, a hotel and other infrastructure as part of a decade-long project to lead in the revitalization of central Luton. The wider Power Court project will create more than 1,000 permanent jobs in addition to the hundreds of direct jobs created during the construction phase.
