Following the recent announcement made by the English Football League (EFL) Championship team Luton Town F.C. as regards a detailed planning application for their under construction home facility – the Power Court Stadium in Luton, Bedfordshire (UK) – had been submitted to the Luton Borough Council, the club has now confirmed that the process has now been formally and successfully validated.

‘LUTON TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB’ stated that this means all of the documents that were submitted by the club and the 2020 Developments (the club’s development arm) are now in the public domain and are therefore available to peruse on the Council’s website.

London (UK)-based the English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales (UK). Founded in 1888 as the Football League, it is the oldest football league in the world, and was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992 when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League (the highest level of the English football league system). The Football League was rebranded as the ‘English Football League’ (EFL) from the 2016-2017 seasons.

The English Football League Championship, known simply as the Championship in England and for sponsorship purposes as the Sky Bet Championship, is the highest division of the English Football League (EFL) and the second-highest overall in the English football league system after the Premier League and is currently contested by 24 clubs.

The Luton Town Football Club is a professional football club from Luton, Bedfordshire, England (UK). The club currently competes in the EFL Championship, the second tier of the English football pyramid, following relegation from the 2023-2024 Premier League. Nicknamed ‘The Hatters’, the Luton Town have played their home games at the Kenilworth Road since 1905.

The 12,056-capacity Kenilworth Road, known affectionately as The Kenny, is an association football stadium in Bury Park, Luton, Bedfordshire, England (UK). It is the home ground of Luton Town since 1905.

The 25,000-capacity Power Court Stadium is a football stadium under construction in Luton, Bedfordshire (UK) that will become the home ground for Luton Town ahead of the 2027-2028 seasons replacing the Kenilworth Road.

The Luton Borough Council, also known as the Luton Council, is the local authority of Luton in the ceremonial County of Bedfordshire, England (UK). Luton has had an elected local authority since 1850 which has been reformed several times.
