Baylor Athletics announced recently an expanded partnership with Magnolia, a nationally prominent entity headquartered in Waco (Texas, US) and founded by Baylor alums Chip and Joanna Gaines.

‘baylorbears.com’ stated that Magnolia, which has previously partnered with Baylor Athletics on a popular cupcake activation at the Baylor Basketball games, will now expand its presence into Baylor Football as the presenting sponsor of Baylor’s newly constructed corporate hospitality structure at the McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas (US).

The Baylor Bears football team represents the Baylor University (a private Baptist research university in Waco, Texas) in Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football. They are a member of the Big 12 Conference. After 64 seasons at the off-campus Baylor Stadium, renamed the now-closed 50,000-capacity Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco, Texas, in 1989, the Bears opened the new on-campus McLane Stadium for the 2014 season.

The 45,140-capacity McLane Stadium is an American football stadium in Waco, Texas (US) owned and operated by the Baylor University. It serves as the home pitch of the Baylor Bears.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as the Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. The FBS consists of the largest schools in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. As of the 2024 season, there are 10 Conferences and 134 schools in the FBS.

It also organizes the athletic programs of the colleges and helps over 500,000 college student-athletes who compete annually in college sports.

The Big 12 Conference is a college athletic Conference headquartered in Irving, Texas (US). It consists of 16 full-member universities in the States of Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.

Magnolia is a multifaceted enterprise encompassing a wide range of enterprises including: Magnolia Market, Magnolia Home, Magnolia Table, Magnolia Network, Magnolia Journal, and Magnolia Realty.

‘baylorbears.com’ further stated that the Brazos Suites, presented by Magnolia, are just one of many exciting enhancements added to the McLane Stadium ahead of the 2024 season. The suites will be managed by the Baylor Sports Properties and catered by the Baylor Club for all the six Baylor home games this Fall creating a unique, new premium area for corporate hospitality.

Exulted Mack B. Rhoades, IV, Vice-President and Director of Athletics, Baylor Athletics, “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Magnolia and Chip and Joanna Gaines. Their support of Baylor University, paired with the strong alignment of our two brands in both mission and values, is truly special. On behalf of Baylor Athletics, we are immensely grateful and proud to be associated with the Gaines Family and it is an honor to have the Magnolia name in our athletics venues. In addition to being great brand partners, Chip and Joanna are often seen at the Baylor sporting events cheering on our student-athletes and supporting many other areas of the campus. We thank them for all they do for Baylor, the City of Waco and beyond.”

Added Theresa Palermo, Magnolia’s Chief Marketing Officer, “Baylor is a key piece of our Waco family and we are absolutely thrilled to sponsor the ‘Brazos Suites’. Welcome Home to our Bear community.”

The addition of the Brazos Suites was announced in July by Baylor Athletics and made possible with a significant investment from the Baylor Sports Properties (a part of Baylor University’s Athletics Department) and their parent company, Playfly Sports. The structure features three climate-controlled suites with outdoor seating and a stunning view overlooking the field from the South Endzone Berm with each suite accommodating approximately 50 guests. The structure was erected over the Summer by In Production, an industry leader in high-end temporary seating, structures and scenic production. The space has been dubbed the ‘Brazos Suites’ by Baylor due to their location on the river side of the stadium.

Pennsylvania (US)-based Playfly Sports is a sports media, marketing and technology business centered on the team, league, brand, and network. Their belief in ‘Fandom as a Service’ and focusing on a consultative, data-driven approach to reach, engage, monetize, and measure fandom gives the company’s property and brand partners a competitive advantage.

Asserted Andrew Waters, Group Vice-President for Playfly Sports Properties, “The Magnolia brand is the perfect match for the new Brazos Suites. Chip and Joanna are the pillars of the Baylor family and the Waco community and we are excited to work with them in supporting the Bears for years to come.”

As the presenting sponsor of the Brazos Suites, Magnolia has created custom branding for the top of the structure with the words ‘Welcome Home’ which reflects Magnolia’s ties to Waco and Baylor while underscoring the company’s focus on all things home.
