Nationale Loterij – the Belgian National Lottery– and the Belgian professional football club R.S.C. Anderlecht (Belgium) – recently announced a renewal of their sponsorship agreement.

‘SBCNEWS’ stated that the Nationale Loterij will continue to remain a partner of the club and it will continue to lend its name to the Belgian football club’s home stadium – the Lotto Park in Anderlecht, Belgium.

The National Lottery of Belgium was founded in 1934 as the Colonial Lottery to raise money for ailing Belgian Congo. In the early ’60s, the lottery was rebranded as the National Lottery. A decade later, the National Lottery organized the popular ‘Lotto’ lottery game.

The Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht, usually known as Anderlecht or RSCA, is a Belgian professional football club based in Anderlecht, Brussels Capital-Region, Belgium. They play in the Belgian Pro League, the top league competition for the association football clubs in Belgium.

The 21,500-capacity Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, also known as the Lotto Park for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in the Municipality of Anderlecht in Brussels, Belgium. It is home to R.S.C. Anderlecht.

Commented Jannie Haek, Belgian National Lottery Managing Director, “I am delighted that our partnership with Sporting Anderlecht will continue. It is nice to know that the name ‘Lotto Park’ has, in a very short time, become part of the collective memory in football. The naming of various venues and locations is key to the Belgian National Lottery’s strategy of being as close as possible to our fellow Belgians every day.”

‘SBCNEWS’ further stated that first partnering in 2018, the Belgian National Lottery and the R.S.C. Anderlecht have termed their collaboration as appealing to a “particularly wide” audience. It was then in 2019 that the Belgian National Lottery retained the stadium naming rights.

This original agreement marked the first time that a company had obtained naming rights for the Brussels stadium since 1983, when it was rebuilt.

Furthermore, Lotto – which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year -will continue to organize numerous initiatives for the Anderlecht fans, which previously held the ‘RSCA Fanatico’ competition which see fans take part in various challenges inside the stadium.

Enthused Kenneth Bornauw, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Non-Sports, R.S.C. Anderlecht, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Belgian National Lottery. The Lotto Park has become a familiar name in recent years, a brand name that stands for passion and fans have a wonderful experience in the arena. It is heartening to know that the National Lottery has full confidence in us and has always stood by us while we try to grow further as a club per se.”
