Romania new stadium in Constanta Image: Farul Constanta

At the proposal of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, the Government of Romania approved recently the construction of a new stadium in the Municipality of Constanța.

‘Farul Constanta’ stated that the new stadium in ‘Primăverii’ street will be a 18,000- seat one and will also come armed with a training ground for football and athletics (track with 6 lanes), a stand of circa 1,000 seats. It will boast exterior landscaping (promenade, walkways, roads, and platforms), utility networks, fencing, and parking areas devoted to players and officials.

Apart from the above features, the stadium will also be equipped with training rooms, conference center, exhibition space, administrative, commercial and catering spaces.

‘Farul Constanta’ further stated that the venue will be built up to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) standards to match up to UEFA 4 (maximum level) classification requirements. Thus, the playing field will be 105 m long and 68 m wide, and the playing surface will be made up of natural grass in a hybrid system (fabric or roll), and will be fitted with a watering, drainage and defrosting/heating system.

The price tag of the facility will stand at 480,490,000 Leu, and will be financed by the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, with the duration of the design and execution of the works being estimated at 28 months.
