Ibrox will host Gordon Ramsay restaurant Image: Glasgow Rangers

The Scottish Premiership club – Rangers Football Club – and the Gordon Ramsay Restaurants have announced an exciting new partnership at the iconic Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland (UK).

‘RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB’ stated that the collaboration is Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, first in sports and will include the opening of a new hospitality lounge, ‘Menu by Gordon Ramsay’ at the Ibrox Stadium.

The Rangers Football Club is a Scottish professional football club based in the Govan district of Glasgow (UK) which plays in the Scottish Premiership. Although not its official name, it is often referred to as Glasgow Rangers outside Scotland.

The Ibrox Stadium is a football stadium on the South side of the River Clyde in the Ibrox area of Glasgow, Scotland. The home of the Rangers Football Club, Ibrox is the third largest football stadium in Scotland, with an all-seated capacity of 50,817.

Founded in 1997, the Gordon Ramsay Restaurants comprises the restaurant business of acclaimed chef, restaurateur, TV personality, and author Gordon Ramsay. It is one of the largest privately-owned restaurant groups in the United Kingdom, with 38 restaurants in the UK.

The group has a further 35 restaurants internationally including in the United States, South Korea, Malaysia, France, Doha, Dubai, and Singapore with further international openings planned.

To date, Gordon Ramsay holds a total of 7 Michelin stars across the restaurant group worldwide, including the flagship venue Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which has held three Michelin-stars for more than 20 years. As well as fine dining, the group has expanded to include more casual dining restaurants offering a wide variety of guest experiences around the globe.

‘RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB’ further stated that the newly opened Blue Sky Lounge restaurant at Ibrox, which has become a firm favorite with supporters, is also set to transform its menu, welcoming a range of Gordon Ramsay signature dishes.

Gordon’s affection for Rangers stems from his childhood playing days when he famously appeared in Rangers youth teams and dreamed of forging a career at the club. However, injury cut this particular dream short, and Gordon has gone on to become one of the world’s most famous chefs.

Recounted Ramsay, “From a very young age I dreamt about having my name up in lights at Ibrox. Whilst my football career may have ended prematurely, I’m proud and delighted to have partnered with the Rangers team to develop an exclusive menu for the iconic stadium. ‘Menu by Gordon Ramsay’, features a stunning menu of seasonal produce and stand out dishes, all personally chosen by myself to offer a world class dining experience at the home of Scottish football.”

Informed James Bisgrove, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Rangers F.C., “Gordon visited Ibrox and the Rangers Training Centre last July, and we’ve been discussing ways of working together ever since. We’re delighted to officially partner with Gordon Ramsay and his team and can’t wait to launch the ‘Menu by Gordon Ramsay’ concept at Ibrox next season. The Blue Sky Lounge restaurant has already been incredibly popular with our supporters and with Gordon’s signature menu being introduced soon, I’m sure it will continue to be a ‘must-visit’ restaurant in Glasgow. Ibrox is quickly becoming a destination in its own right for the Rangers supporters and for visitors from all over the world. With the recent launches of our multipurpose venue – Edmiston House, Blue Sky Lounge Restaurant and the new Club Museum, plus a Sports Bar set to open soon, this unique partnership with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants will only serve to elevate Ibrox even further.”

Further details on the ‘Menu by Gordon Ramsay’ at Ibrox and the Gordon Ramsay signature menu at the Blue Sky Lounge will be communicated soon.
