Rhein Fire to set MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA on ‘fire’

The comeback of the American football team Rhein Fire in 2021 caused great enthusiasm among numerous football fans in Düsseldorf (City in Germany) and the surrounding areas. Now those responsible for the team from the European League of Football (ELF), the City of Düsseldorf and D.LIVE (American video live streaming service) have agreed that the Rhein Fire will play at least one top game in the 2025 season and two top games in 2026 at the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA in Düsseldorf.

‘rheinfire.eu’ stated that the above parties have interacted and been in touch with each other for quite some time over future fixtures of Rhein Fire.

The Rhein Fire is an American football team in Düsseldorf, Germany. They play in the European League of Football (ELF) since the 2022 expansion.

The 31,514-capacity MSV-Arena, currently known for sponsorship purposes as the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena, is a football stadium in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, built in 2004. The stadium serves as the home of the Rhein Fire as well as the 3. Liga team MSV Duisburg.

Hamburg (Germany)-based the European League of Football (ELF) is a professional American football league. The league consists of 17 teams located in Germany, Poland, Spain, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and France, with plans to expand to 24 teams in 2025.

The MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA, previously known as the Esprit Arena, the LTU Arena and as the Düsseldorf Arena, is a multifunctional football stadium in Düsseldorf, Germany. The stadium holds 54,600 and has a retractable roof. Its special heating system allows the stadium to host comfortable events even at the height of Winter.

‘rheinfire.eu’ further stated that the above parties have also agreed that regular ELF season games should be held in Düsseldorf. Rhein Fire and D.SPORTS have recently worked together on several campaigns. The first Rhein Fire combine for player sightings for the comeback season was held at the CASTELLO Düsseldorf (arena in Düsseldorf), and the Rhein Fire was also involved in the carnival campaign organized by the National Football League (NFL).
