Moritz Schneider has taken up the role as the new Managing Director of Sportpark Stadion Frankfurt am Main Gesellschaft für Projektentwicklungen mbH in Frankfurt, Germany.

New MD Schneider, who was born in Offenbach in 1983, succeeds Clarissa Böckl, who will be retiring shortly.

Sportpark Stadion Frankfurt am Main Gesellschaft für Projektentwicklungen mbH is a holding company of the City of Frankfurt am Main which oversees various sporting facilities.

As the owner of Deutsche Bank Park Stadium, it is responsible for technical facility management. It is also responsible for the PSD Bank Arena on Bornheimer Hang. It also operates the winter sports hall with the adjacent “Kleine Kampfbahn” (small arena) and is responsible for the Louisa sports complex.

The 58,000-capacity Waldstadion, currently known as Deutsche Bank Park for sponsorship purposes, is a retractable roof sports stadium in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. The home stadium of Bundesliga football club Eintracht Frankfurt, it opened in 1925.

Schneider completed an international master’s degree in urban and spatial planning in London and Paris and has more than 15 years of professional experience in sports, live entertainment, and international project management and development.

Most recently, he served as a Senior Venue & Real Estate Developer at CTS Eventim, where he played a key role in the planning and construction of a new arena in Milan.

Prior to that, he worked for Stadion Frankfurt Management and its successor, Eintracht Frankfurt Stadion.

He also worked as a consultant for Lagardère Sports & Entertainment (now Sportfive).

Moritz Schneider said he is looking forward to leading the sports park into the future. He added, “I would like to thank Mike Josef and the SSF Supervisory Board for their trust and am very much looking forward to this exciting task.

Managing SSF’s existing portfolio presents me with a very attractive challenge. Driving forward the multifunctional arena urban development project fills me with pride and fits perfectly with my many years of international professional experience in event, venue, and planning management.

Deutsche Bank Park is one of the leading event venues in Europe; managing and continuously improving it is a fantastic task. And finally implementing the multifunctional arena for Frankfurt is a unique and incredibly exciting challenge.”

The planned 15,000 capacity multifunctional arena will serve as the home venue of the professional basketball club Skyliners Frankfurt and the professional ice hockey team Löwen Frankfurt and will also hold major music acts and conferences.

Mayor Mike Josef said: “I would like to thank Ms. Böckl for her many years of reliable cooperation. She and her team have laid important foundations for the further planning of the multi-purpose arena.

“With Moritz Schneider, we have gained a proven expert who impresses with his experience and expertise in both urban planning and sports management.”
