Singapore has hit a vaccination milestone with 70 percent of its adult population vaccinated against COVID-19.

The ‘Australasian Leisure Management’ stated that as a result, the Singapore Government has now eased some of its restrictions for fully vaccinated individuals.

Explaining the move, Singapore Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong pointed out, “We will allow for larger event sizes if they are attended by only fully vaccinated persons too. Worship services, cinemas, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) events, live performances, sports events can go up to 500 persons if they are attended by fully vaccinated persons.”

The ‘Australasian Leisure Management’ further stated that if the situation remains stable, event sizes could increase to 1,000 fully vaccinated people from August 19th.

Minister Wong added, “When 80 percent of our population are fully vaccinated, we will move to the transition stage and allow further easing of measures. We are taking a controlled step by step approach in reopening.”
