The LaLiga club FC Barcelona has presented a new concept in Barça Hospitality in the form of the new VIP spaces at their future home stadium – the under-renovation Spotify Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona, Spain – which will definitely help the top-flight to rake in the revenue as the VIP guests will be offered spoilt-for-choice facilities.

‘FC Barcelona’ stated that keeping the Barça coffers full-to-the-brim is the crux of the Spotify Camp Nou renovation project, the fulcrum of the Espai Barça project. With the building work under way for more than three months, the redevelopment of the ‘Blaugranes’ new home is progressing and will bring to life a project that will mark a new era in the club’s history and the aim is that the renovated Spotify Camp Nou be the cynosure of all eyes globally and the most-talked-about stadium in the world.

The Futbol Club Barcelona, commonly referred to as Barcelona and colloquially known as Barça, is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in LaLiga, the top flight of Spanish football.

The under-renovation Camp Nou, branded as Spotify Camp Nou for sponsorship reasons, is the home of the LaLiga club FC Barcelona since its completion in 1957. With a current seating capacity of 99,354, it is the stadium with the largest capacity in Spain and Europe, and the fifth largest football stadium in the world.

As the Espai Barça project to revamp the club’s sporting facilities is underway, the Barça are playing their official home matches at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain.

The 55,926-capacity Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys is a stadium in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Originally built in 1927 for the 1929 International Exposition in the City, it was renovated in 1989 to be the main stadium for the 1992 Summer Olympics and 1992 Summer Paralympics.

The Espai Barça project is a large-scale infrastructure redevelopment project to improve (and expand) all of FC Barcelona’s infrastructure including their training facilities, the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium, the Palau Blaugrana, the club’s offices as well as the commercial and leisure facilities.

The Palau Blaugrana is an arena in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, belonging to FC Barcelona. The 7,585 seating-capacity arena is home to the basketball, handball, roller hockey, and futsal divisions of FC Barcelona. The Palau Blaugrana is located in the same complex that houses the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium.

New sponsorship deals linked to the above facility will take into prime consideration the agreement with Spotify (digital music, podcast and video service) for the title rights, and making available additional box seats as well as VIP seats with premium offerings will bring home the revenue bacon for Barça.

To generate more revenue, the plan is to ink new sponsorship deals which coupled with the new VIP offerings will generate together some 120 million euros annually. Sponsorship deals and the world-is-at-your-feet facilities for the VIP guests will help to keep the club’s as well as the venue’s financial wheels well-oiled and will also help the Espai Barça project to flourish.

Keeping the above factors in mind, especially the financial angle, the club has decided to set up an Experience Center which will meet the club’s twin objectives – it will serve as a platform as well as a commercial tool and will help in the public relations (PR) exercise of the Espai Barça project.

Heightened Hospitality

The Barça Hospitality Showroom will occupy a space of 1,000m2 that will remain in use until the stadium total remodeling work is over and it promises the clients and guests an exhilarating experience with a very inviting ambience.

The Hospitality Showroom will be a space which will boast virtual reality (VR), immersive activities, holograms, and tech trappings which will mirror the VIP seating and boxes area of the redecorated Spotify Camp Nou.

The Barça Hospitality Showroom planned opening is before the end of the current year and it will be lodged on the second floor of the Barça Immersive Tour. In this new space, the FC Barcelona will offer a personalized service for both businesses with a potential interest in becoming Espai Barça partners, as well as Barça members.

Commercialization of the New VIP Offering

The presentation and commercialization of each of the products that form part of the new VIP seating and boxes offer will be introduced gradually and the FC Barcelona members who are interested as well as the current clients of the Hospitality products will enjoy preferential access.

The quality of the VIP products will be much higher than the current one and the offer will be triple of what was in pre-renovated Spotify Camp Nou, a new proposal for the Premium seats in the revamped Spotify Camp Nou. To promote the commercialization and the design of the new VIP offering, the FC Barcelona announced at the start of the year collaboration with Legends, an internationally renowned company, with the aim of maximizing the creation of new revenue streams associated with Hospitality in their spruced-up home.

Key Partner Legends

Founded in 2008, New York (US)-based Legends is a premium experiences company with six divisions operating worldwide – Global Planning, Global Sales, Hospitality, Global Partnerships, Global Merchandise, and Global Technology Solutions – offering clients and partners a 360-degree service solution platform to elevate their brand and execute their vision.

They are the industry leaders in designing, planning and realizing exceptional experiences in sports and entertainment. Legends are a leader in its field and bring a vision of the best way to work and the trends in international commercial exploitation of large-scale sporting facilities.

FC Barcelona is joining forces with leading companies in the entertainment industry who will complement the club’s own teams. The idea is to combine the experience and knowledge of the professionals and teams at the club with the best practices on an international level. As such, Legends have been working for the last few months with the main departments of the club involved in the project.
