Starting August 15th, interested National Football League (NFL) team Tennessee Titans (US) fans can join a seating waitlist for the Titans’ future stadium.

‘NashvillePost’ stated that the team has released a video of the new stadium and has created a website dedicated to information about it.

The Tennessee Titans are a professional American football team based in Nashville, Tennessee (US). The Titans compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference South division and play their home games at the Nissan Stadium.

The 69,143-capacity Nissan Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Owned by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, it is primarily used for football and is the home field of the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL).

The Titans are planning a new, domed stadium to be built next to where the existing stadium stands today.

‘NashvillePost’ further stated that the waitlist allows those interested in purchasing seats in the new stadium to reserve spots in line to buy tickets when they go on sale. Current personal seat license (PSL) and suite holders do not need to join the waitlist, as their priority to purchase seats is already secured.

A personal seat license, or PSL, is a paid license that entitles the holder to the right to buy season tickets for a certain seat in a stadium. This holder can sell the seat license to someone else if they no longer wish to purchase season tickets.

To join the waitlist, fans will be able to review various categories of seating and place a deposit on the seating type they are most interested in. Deposits are $50 for reserved PSLs, $200 for premier seats and $1,000 for a luxury suite.

The deposit will be directly applied to fans’ future purchase, or refunded should they choose not to purchase.

Groundbreaking on the Titans’ planned home venue is expected to occur in early- or mid-2024, with an opening anticipated in 2027. The Titans’ games and other major events will continue to operate in the current Nissan Stadium until the new building opens.

The stadium is currently estimated at 1.75 million square feet, with a capacity of approximately 60,000, less than the current Nissan Stadium capacity. It is anticipated to bring in year-round events, with the hope of hosting the Super Bowl, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Final Four and other national events. It will also continue to host the Tennessee State University home football games.

The Super Bowl is the annual league championship game of the National Football League. It has served as the final game of every NFL season since 1966, replacing the NFL Championship Game. Since 2022, the game is played on the second Sunday in February.

Indianapolis (US)-based the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student-athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. It also organizes the athletic programs of colleges and helps over 500,000 college student athletes who compete annually in college sports.

The stadium is expected to cost more than $2 billion, with both the State and Metro Nashville contributing hundreds of millions of dollars toward the project.

‘newschannel9.com’ stated that in April, Nashville’s Metro Council voted to approve a deal for a new enclosed Titans stadium which allowed the Titans to move forward with plans to build the $2.1 billion stadium on the East Bank.

‘newschannel9.com’ further stated that a new domed stadium could bring more events to ‘Music City’ (Nashville) such as the Super Bowl and WrestleMania. The Nashville’s Convention and Visitors Corp projects that each major event at the new stadium will bring $100 million to the ‘Music City’.

The WrestleMania is a professional wrestling pay-per-view and livestreaming event held annually between mid-March and mid-April by the American company World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the world’s largest professional wrestling promotion.

Stamford (US)-based the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. d/b/a WWE is an American professional wrestling promotion. A global integrated media and entertainment company, WWE has also branched out into other fields, including film, American football and various other business ventures.

Nashville (US)-based the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp brands, sells and markets Nashville as ‘Music City’ to the world and as a premier entertainment destination for travelers who seek authentic and unique leisure and convention experiences. The hospitality industry is a crucial economic engine for Nashville and the State (Tennessee).
