After the recent Gold Cup title win, the Mexican Football Federation have confirmed the next games for the ‘El Tri’ (Mexico national football team) with four matches scheduled during the September and October FIFA windows.

‘en.as.com’ stated that the all four games will be played in the United States with Germany the highest profile of the four opponents as the ‘Die Mannscahft’ (Germany national football team) travel to Philadelphia (US) on October 17th as part of ‘El Tri’s’ 20th anniversary of the MexTour.

Mexico claimed the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) Gold Cup 2023 title in July this year as it beat Panama 1-0.

Florida (US)-based the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, abbreviated as Concacaf, is one of FIFA’s six continental governing bodies for association football.

The 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup was the 17th edition of the Concacaf Gold Cup, the biennial international men’s football championship of the North, Central American and the Caribbean region organized by Concacaf. Canada and the United States hosted the tournament, which began on June 24th, 2023. Mexico won a record ninth Gold Cup title, defeating Panama 1-0 in the final held on July 16th at the 70,240-capacity SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, a suburb of Los Angeles (US).

The Mexican Football Federation is the governing body of association football in Mexico. It administers the Mexico national team, the Liga MX (the top professional football division in Mexico) and all affiliated amateur sectors, and controls promoting, organizing, directing, expanding, and supervising competitive football in Mexico.

The Mexico national football team (‘El Tri’) represents Mexico in international football and is governed by the Mexican Football Federation. It competes as a member of Concacaf. Mexico has qualified to 17 World Cups and has qualified consecutively since 1994, making it one of six countries to do so.

Zürich (Switzerland)-based the Fédération Internationale de football association (FIFA) is the international governing body of association football, beach soccer and futsal. It was founded in 1904 to oversee international competition among the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

The Germany national football team (‘Die Mannscahft’) represents Germany in men’s international football and played its first match in 1908. The team is governed by the German Football Association (DFB – the governing body of football, futsal and beach soccer in Germany), founded in 1900.

The Mexican national team matches allow the team to prepare for important competitions like the FIFA World Cup™ and Concacaf Gold Cup, while reaching their fervent fan base across North America as part of MexTour.

‘en.as.com’ further stated that the above four Mexico games form part of the 20th anniversary of the MexTour in the USA with Mexico also set to face Australia, Uzbekistan and Ghana.

The first game of this series will take place at the 80,000-capacity AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas) on September 9th when Mexico face Australia. Three days later, on September 12th, for the first time in history, the Mexican national team will go head-to-head with Uzbekistan in Atlanta, one of the 2026 World Cup Host Cities.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup™, marketed as FIFA World Cup 26™, will be the 23rd FIFA World Cup™, the quadrennial international men’s soccer championship contested by the national teams of the member-associations of FIFA. The tournament will take place from June 11th-July 19th, 2026. The soccer spectacle will be jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada and the United States.

A month later in October, ‘El Tri’ return to the United States to play against Ghana on October 14th, with no venue for the game locked in and the final test of the quartet comes on October 17th when they meet Germany at the 67,594-capacity Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
