TP Vision to create digital experience at Camp Nou Image: FC Barcelona

The LaLiga club FC Barcelona (Spain) has expanded its family of sponsors with the incorporation of TP Vision (manufacturers of monitors and televisions) as the entity’s new Main Partner.

‘FC Barcelona’ stated that TP Vision is the company responsible for the design, manufacture and sale of Philips TV, Philips Sound and AOC Audio products and has become a part of the top-flight’s sponsor ecosystem as the new Main Partner for TV, Display and Sound devices.

FC Barcelona – commonly referred to as Barcelona and colloquially known as Barça – is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in LaLiga, the top flight of Spanish football.

Amsterdam (Netherlands)-based TP Vision was founded in 2012 and is today one of the leading global players in the consumer audio and television industries. It develops, manufactures and markets consumer electronics products and technologies that deliver a superior visual and audio experience.

With a strong focus on the consumer and hospitality markets, TP Vision’s product portfolio includes audio products, televisions, professional displays, and content operating systems. These products and solutions are marketed through TP Vision’s own AOC brand, as well as the Philips brand, used under license from Koninklijke Philips NV.

Home to leading electronic brands and award-winning products, TP Vision employs more than 2,000 people worldwide, with operations in Europe, the Americas, Middle East, India, and select countries in Asia-Pacific. TP Vision brings value to everyday life and society through its expertise in product development, design, operational excellence, and responsible manufacturing.

‘FC Barcelona’ further stated that the above agreement involves the incorporation of the Ambilight TV brand on the sleeve of the men’s first team shirt.

The agreement was signed recently in the presence of the President of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, the Vice-President of the Marketing Area, Juli Guiu, and Kostas Vouzas, head honcho of TP Vision.

Immersive Viewing

The agreement will serve to give visibility to the world’s leading range of Philips televisions and audio products from TP Vision, where the Ambilight TV technology stands out, which is characterized by its unique ability to turn traditional television viewing into an experience of Immersive viewing like no other.

The agreement grants TP Vision association rights with the first men’s (FC Barcelona) and women’s soccer teams (FC Barcelona Femení) as well as with the rest of the club’s professional sports teams. The multinational will also play an important role as a provider of screens and digital signage solutions for the new Spotify Camp Nou, to make it one of the most innovative venues in Europe.

The FC Barcelona home venue – the 99,354-capacity Spotify Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain – is undergoing total transformation for which Barça has moved to the 55,926-capacity Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys Stadium in Barcelona very recently.

During the course of this association, the players of the first soccer teams will have the possibility to be Ambassadors of the brand and experience first-hand the range of products of this company, in particular the unique proposal of Philips Ambilight TV.

Touch of Sophistication

One of the distinctive features that sets Philips Ambilight TVs apart is an integrated multicolor LED strip, positioned along the rear edges of the set, which casts a constantly changing halo of light on the rear wall, timed with the screen image. Ambilight delivers a bigger, better TV picture that simulates extending beyond the physical limits of the screen, making it appear to float, rather than being attached to the wall. A sophisticated detail that works especially well when viewing sporting events such as football.

The collaboration between TP Vision and FC Barcelona, which must be ratified at the next Assembly of Commitment Members, is part of the strategy of both organizations to proactively seek allies that share the same values with the aim of projecting their brands to new global audiences.

Remarked Juli Guiu, Vice-President of the Marketing Department of FC Barcelona, “We are very proud to welcome TP Vision as the new Main Partner of FC Barcelona. Barça has always stood out for its commitment to the search for excellence, both on and off the pitch, and this agreement is a new success in this sense because it allies us with a world-leading company in the field of electronics and audiovisual technology. A giant step forward in the commercial strategy of FC Barcelona at the hands of a multinational that, thanks to its Ambilight TV technology, has turned the match experience into a captivating and highly satisfying journey for millions of fans who follow football from home.”

Commented Kostas Vouzas, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TP Vision (Philips TV and Sound Europe and Americas), “We are delighted to be able to partner with a true global sports icon like FC Barcelona. It is a natural fit as both organizations seek to broaden horizons, offering our fans a unique sports experience, live and at home. Millions of consumers are already enjoying our unique Ambilight TVs into their homes and, as part of our strategy, this long-term partnership with FC Barcelona is going to elevate the fantastic Ambilight TV experience to the level it truly deserves.”
