Manchester City has become the first club in the Premier League to introduce a futuristic virtual reality experience as part of its award-winning stadium tour.

Manchester City said ‘Beyond the Blue Moon’ is an immersive experience that allows fans and visitors to engage with Manchester City in an entirely new way by taking them on a dynamic journey that combines nostalgia, adventure, and cutting-edge technology.

Highlights of the experience include travelling through a variety of different City-themed worlds or flying around a futuristic Etihad Stadium before lifting a trophy in front of a crowd of cheering fans.

Manchester City Football Club, also known as the Man City, is a professional football club based in Manchester, England (UK) that competes in the Premier League, the top flight of English football.

The City of Manchester Stadium, currently known as the Etihad Stadium for sponsorship reasons, and commonly shortened as The Etihad, is the home of the Premier League club Manchester City F.C. with a domestic football capacity of 53,600 making it the seventh-largest football stadium in England and the 11th-largest in the United Kingdom.

The club said the immersive experience also offers opportunities to delve deeper into the club’s rich history, with content exploring key moments, legendary players, and important goals that have shaped our journey.

In doing so, the experience is designed to be suitable for adults and children aged over seven, making it an ideal activity during the summer holidays.

The launch of the new virtual reality experience is the latest example of the Club investing in technology to make the Manchester City Stadium Tour more immersive and distinctive.

From playing crowd noise in the player tunnel, or giving visitors the chance to sit alongside a virtual Pep Guardiola during a simulated press conference, the club continues to use technology to redefine the traditional stadium tour experience.

This commitment to innovation has resulted in the Manchester City Stadium Tour currently being ranked the third-highest rated experience in the UK on Tripadvisor.

It has also won the platform’s Best of the Best Award three times in the past four years as a result of being in the top 1% of experiences globally.

Danny Wilson, Managing Director, Manchester City Operations, said: “The launch of our first-of-its-kind virtual reality experience marks an exciting evolution of the Manchester City Stadium Tour, offering fans and visitors an entirely new way to connect with the Club through immersive, cutting-edge technology.

“Beyond The Blue Moon reflects our broader commitment to embracing innovation and reimagining traditional experiences, which is something we will continue to focus on as we prepare to open our new Manchester City Museum next year following the completion of our entertainment destination at the Etihad Campus.”

The experience costs £12 per person if booked in advance, or £15 if booked on the day.
