Al Bayt Stadium – a football stadium under construction in Al Khor, Qatar, in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ – will almost be a phantasmagoria of beauty. It will be a kind of dream for fans arriving at this 60,000-capacity venue – something which they have never seen before.

A mammoth tent structure will cover this whole stadium in the northern city of Al Khor. The facility will host matches right through to the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ semi-finals.

Being delivered by Aspire Zone Foundation, the stadium takes its name from bayt al sha’ar – tents historically used by nomadic people in Qatar and the Gulf region. In keeping with the tradition of Qatar’s famously hospitable people, Al Bayt Stadium will welcome guests from far and wide, entertaining them and inviting them to experience and get immersed in the country’s traditional culture.

The upper tier of modular design seating will be removed following the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and given to developing nations that need sporting infrastructure – a lasting reminder how generous a country Qatar is.
