The Premier League club West Ham United F.C. are gearing up for an impressive leap in their matchday experience. The club, in collaboration with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), is set to elevate their residence – the London Stadium in London, England (UK) – capacity to a staggering 68,000.

‘EPL INDEX’ stated that this strategic move will not only enhance fan experience but will also position West Ham’s home ground as the second-largest in the Premier League, trailing only behind the iconic 74,310-capacity Old Trafford in Greater Manchester, England (UK).

The 80,000-capacity London Stadium is a multipurpose outdoor stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the Stratford district of London (UK). It is located in the Lower Lea Valley, six miles East of Central London.

The London Stadium capacity is 60,000 seats when operating in football mode. The 80,000-capacity is for concerts including free-flow between the field of play and the lower tier.

London (UK)-based the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) is an organization established in 2012, replacing the Olympic Park Legacy Company and the planning powers of the Olympic Delivery Authority. It was formed as a Mayoral Development Corporation under the powers of the Localism Act 2011.

‘EPL INDEX’ further stated that the heart of this ambitious plan lies in the agreement to add 5,500 supporters per game.

As Alex Miller, Scottish football Manager states, “’The Hammers’ and London Stadium owners the London Legacy Development Corporation have agreed to an informal plan which will see the number of supporters rise by 5,500.”

Financial Implications and Club Growth
