Idea Live Arena, a brand-new international entertainment and live performances event venue, has opened in the city of Petaling Jaya in Malaysia.

Capitaland said the venue, located in 3 Damansara mall, offers premium quality multi-purpose spaces and facilities catering to a wide range of corporate, commercial and entertainment events.

With a seating capacity of up to 5,000 and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, Idea Live Arena is Malaysia’s largest indoor arena within a shopping mall, promising to deliver unique and dynamic experiences for all attendees.

To establish itself as the preferred community hub in Klang Valley, 3 Damansara will also embark on the next phase of its rejuvenation plans in the second half of 2025.

Ms Selina Ng, Managing Director, Retail, Commercial Management, CapitaLand Investment (Malaysia), said, “As part of the rejuvenation plans for 3 Damansara, we are excited to introduce a brand-new international entertainment and live performances event hall, further elevating the lifestyle and retail experience for our shoppers.

“Visitors can expect an exciting calendar of engaging and crowd-pulling events at Idea Live Arena.”

The expansive arena, designed to accommodate 5,000 seated guests or 7,000 attendees in seated and standing arrangements, was brought to life through a RM40 million investment dedicated to renovations, structural enhancements, and the installation of cutting-edge technical systems.

Boasting superior sound, lighting, and visual equipment, the venue is equipped to deliver world-class experiences for concerts, live performances, and large-scale events.

Additional features include a spacious reception foyer, fully equipped dressing rooms, and five luxurious VIP boxes, ensuring comfort and exclusivity for performers and high-profile guests alike.

The venue will play a role in filling a critical gap in Malaysia’s entertainment landscape, providing a modern indoor space capable of hosting international and local acts year-round.

The arena’s launch comes at a pivotal moment, as Malaysia seeks to bolster its tourism industry and revitalize urban areas.

Dato’ Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, the chief executive officer of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia said, “Facilities like this are vital to our mission of positioning Malaysia as a regional hub for the creative industries.

Idea Live Arena not only welcomes international productions but also creates opportunities for our local talent, from filmmakers and musicians to cultural performers, to shine on a world-class stage.”
