Atletico Mineiro’s new stadium has got the go-ahead with all 38 members in the plenary giving thumbs up to the bill. Numerous supporters in the gallery welcomed the vote.

The bill was introduced by Mayor Alexandre Kalil a month back. All 38 members of the city council decided to vote in favour of Bill No – PL 817/2019. The fans were overjoyed by the decision.

The bill authorizes detailed examination of the area where Galo’s new arena will come up. The bill administers displacement of land and public and private ownership will be remodeled. Before the voting took place, it was green lighted by all relevant municipal committees (for justice, environment, public administration, budget and public finance).

Fans who were celebrating on social media were informed by the professional club of Brazil that there was more work left vis-à-vis the building of the stadium. A second vote would be held at the upcoming City Council meeting.

The patience has finally paid off for Atletico Mineiro – they are all set to build the largest private facility in Brazil since the 2014 World Cup.

Arena MRV is set for groundbreaking in California, north-west district of Belo Horizonte. The 47,000-capacity stadium will cost R$ 500 million, a reasonable figure as the facility is huge.
