Update on Denver NWSL Image: Denver NWSL

Denver NWSL has finalized the full ownership group for the club, marking a significant milestone to kicking off in its inaugural season in 2026.

Denver NWSL said that led by controlling owner Rob Cohen, the group brings together a dynamic and diverse set of investors committed to building a world-class women’s soccer club in Colorado.

The finalized Denver NWSL ownership group includes:

Rob Cohen; Ariel Investments’ Project Level, led by Denver NWSL Alternate Governor Mellody Hobson; FirstTracks Sports Ventures / siblings Jon-Erik Borgen, Kaia Borgen Moritz and Randi Borgen; Neelima Joshi & Dhiren Jhaveri; Molly Coors; Mikaela Shiffrin; Peyton Manning; Cordillera Investment Partners; The Soin Family Led by Vishal Soin; Brooke Woody; and For Denver FC Capital Partners (SPV).

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is a women’s professional soccer league and the highest level of the United States soccer league system.

The league comprises 14 teams (16 in 2026). It is owned by the teams and sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (the official governing body of soccer in the United States). The NWSL is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan.

Denver’s NWSL expansion team has unveiled plans for a new stadium at Santa Fe Yards in Denver. The 14,500-seat venue is set to open in Spring 2028.

The Denver NWSL team’s current home ground is a temporary stadium in Centennial, Colorado.

This stadium will be used for their first two seasons while their permanent stadium at Santa Fe Yards in Denver is being constructed. The temporary stadium in Centennial seats 12,000 fans.

Rob Cohen, controlling owner of Denver NWSL, said, “It’s an honor to be joined by such an accomplished and passionate group of individuals.

“Each investor brings a unique perspective and deep commitment to supporting women’s sports. Together, we’re building something that will reflect the values and spirit of Colorado and have a lasting impact in our community.”

Among the new additions to the group is Randi Borgen who joins her siblings Jon-Erik Borgen and Kaia Borgen Mortiz as investors in Denver NWSL through their investment company, FirstTracks Sports Ventures (FTSV).

Formed in 2022, FTSV and the Borgen family were key contributors in the early movement and eventual bid to bring an NWSL team to Denver.

Cordillera Investment Partners is an investment management firm that exclusively invests in niche, non-correlated assets.

Cordillera believes the Denver team is a perfect fit for its growing portfolio of investments that are under the radar to the institutional investment world but demonstrate compelling growth and uncorrelated return potential.

Raj Soin and Vishal Soin represent two generations of entrepreneurial leadership and philanthropic commitment of the Soin Family. Raj Soin is a pioneering entrepreneur. As Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Soin LLC, he leads a diverse portfolio of enterprises and equity investments.

Vishal Soin is the President of Varis Holdings, where he oversees a single-family office managing a wide array of investments.

Brooke Woody started her career in the financial services industry in North Carolina after graduating from Wake Forest University. She is passionate about supporting women’s sports and entered the women’s sports arena with a minority ownership stake in the NC Courage.

Founded in 2022 by Ben Hubbard, Tom Dunmore, Jordan Angeli, and Nicole Glaros, For Denver FC launched the public movement that ultimately contributed in bringing professional women’s soccer to Colorado.

For Denver FC’s work was instrumental in the early stages of Denver’s pursuit of an NWSL franchise, helping lay the foundations for Denver’s successful bid by generating deep grassroots enthusiasm, exploring infrastructure solutions, and engaging Rob Cohen and other key members of the ownership group.
