The Major League Baseball (MLB) team Los Angeles Dodgers (US) have selected global sports marketing agency Sportfive to help secure premier worldwide partnerships for the team, it was announced on April 19th.

The ‘Major League Baseball’ stated that as part of the partnership, Sportfive will look to secure two marquee corporate partner positions for the seven-time World Series champions – the field presenting partner to the iconic Dodger Stadium and the first-of-its-kind jersey partnership in Major League Baseball. The agency will leverage its extensive market intelligence, reach and global sales network to identify and secure ideal partners for the team’s partnership positions, whether domestically or internationally.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are an American professional baseball team based in Los Angeles (US). The Dodgers compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League West division.

The 56,000-capacity Dodger Stadium is a baseball stadium in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California (US). It is the home stadium of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers. Opened in 1962, it was constructed in less than three years at a cost of US$23 million.

The Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization and the oldest major professional sports league in the world. As of 2022, a total of 30 teams play in Major League Baseball – 15 teams in the National League and 15 in the American League – with 29 in the United States and 1 in Canada.

Sportfive is an international sports marketing agency operating globally with offices around the world. The headquarter of Sportfive is based in Hamburg, Germany.

The ‘Major League Baseball’ further stated that the field presenting partnership of Dodger Stadium, the team’s home in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, represents a unique opportunity for a brand to be part of one of the most admired and heavily trafficked venues in the United States. The presenting partner position will be the most prominent partnership position within the Dodgers’ ballpark and will include significant branding and other marketing opportunities.

In addition, Sportfive will lead the sales effort for the team’s new jersey patch, which was just approved by Major League Baseball to begin in the 2023 season.

Said Corey Norkin, Senior Vice-President, Global Partnerships at Los Angeles Dodgers, “We are very happy to be working with Sportfive on these unique partnership opportunities. For a company to have the opportunity to align their brand with us and our iconic venue, Dodger Stadium, along with one of the most recognizable uniforms in all of sports is truly special. We look forward to working with these future partners.”

Stated Neil Glat, Co-President, Americas at Sportfive, “The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball and we’re proud to partner with them. The team has been at the center of many marquee moments in the history of the game of baseball, and we’re excited to utilize our strong international network to find terrific partners that best match with the Dodgers incredible brand.”

Sportfive has an experienced and robust international workforce providing cutting-edge services to sports rightsholders around the world. The agency has a portfolio of more than 60,000 rightsholders, brands, hospitality clients and broadcasters, and manages rights and delivers premium events across more than 30 different sports, some of which include the LaLiga club Atlético de Madrid (Spain), the Bundesliga, English Football Association (FA), English Premier League, among many others.
