Houston Dynamo hires new CRO Image: Houston Dynamo FC

The Major League Soccer (MLS) team Houston Dynamo Football Club (US) announced on March 7th that Jeff Stewart has joined the organization as the Chief Revenue Officer. He is the fourth front office executive hired by the club since the arrival of the majority owner and Chairman, Ted Segal, in 2021.

‘Houston Dynamo FC’ quoted the club’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Jessica O’Neill, as stating, “Jeff Stewart will be a game changer for the club as we continue to build value for fans, partners and stakeholders. This national search led us to the talent that was right across the street and Jeff’s relationships in the community, along with his understanding of the market will be impactful. We’re elated to welcome Jeff and his family to the Houston Dynamo Football Club.”

The Houston Dynamo FC (formerly officially, but still commonly, called the Houston Dynamo) is an American professional soccer club based in Houston (US). The Dynamo competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference.

The 22,039-capacity Shell Energy Stadium is an American multipurpose stadium located in Houston, Texas (US) that is home to the Houston Dynamo, a Major League Soccer (MLS) club, the Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League and the Texas Southern Tigers football.

‘Houston Dynamo FC’ stated that Stewart will oversee ticket and partnership sales and service teams focused on revenue retention and growth for the Dynamo and Dash, as well as special event sales for corporate and private events at the Shell Energy Stadium. Alongside club leadership, Stewart will drive new initiatives around the Shell Energy Stadium, Houston Sports Park and the Houston Dynamo Football Club headquarters opening in East Downtown (EaDo – neighborhood in Houston, Texas) this Summer.

Stated Stewart, “This is a thrilling time to join the club and help execute a vision that will create lasting memories for our fans, partners and everyone affiliated with the organization. The work the club accomplished in the offseason has been remarkable and a tangible example of the upward trajectory of the club. I look forward to working with the club leadership to build on this momentum as we look toward the future of the organization.”

Stewart spent the last decade with the Major League Baseball (MLB) team Houston Astros, most recently as the Vice-President of corporate partnerships and special events. In that role, he led high-performing teams consistently driving double-digit revenue growth year-over-year. He personally secured long-term, high-impact agreements with multiple Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies throughout his tenure. One of his final initiatives was securing a seven-year jersey sleeve partnership announced just last month.

Stewart spent nearly five years with the Six Flags Fiesta Texas (theme park in San Antonio, Texas) prior to joining the Astros in 2013, serving as the Director of Corporate Alliances for the Texas markets. With a variety of positions across Minor League Baseball (MiLB) teams at the beginning of his career, Stewart brings more than two decades of sports experience to his new role.

The Moraga, California native graduated from the California State University at Chico with a BA in Sociology. Stewart currently serves as the Board Member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Southern Texas chapter, a position he has held since 2017.

Stewart joined the club this week ahead of the first opening of the newly-renovated Shell Energy Stadium on March 18th when the Houston Dynamo FC will face their peer team Austin FC. Dash fans will have their first opportunity to watch the team on March 26th for the home opener against the National Women’s Soccer League team Racing Louisville FC. Season ticket memberships, corporate hospitality packages, group experiences, and single-match tickets for both teams are available now.
