The National League team the Ebbsfleet United F.C. has announced that the Gravesham Borough Council in Kent (UK) has resolved to grant planning permission for the Northfleet Harbourside on April 30th.

The Ebbsfleet United Football Club is a professional association football club based in Northfleet, Kent, England (UK). The club compete in the National League, the fifth level of the English football league system.

The 4,769-capacity Stonebridge Road Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent, England (UK), also known as the Kuflink Stadium for sponsorship reasons. It is primarily used for football matches. The Stonebridge Road was constructed in 1905 and serves as the home facility of the Ebbsfleet United F.C.

The Gravesham Borough Council is a district-level Council in Kent, England (UK) that provides services for the residents, the businesses and the visitors.

‘EBBSFLEET UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB’ further stated that within the 50-acre mixed-use development, the Ebbsfleet United F.C. will retain the freehold and management control of the new-build £40m 8,000-seat multiuse community stadium and event facilities. This will secure the club’s future for generations to come and provide stable, self-generating income and revenue towards the club’s ultimate goal of sustainable high-performance.

Commented Damian Irvine, Chief Executive Officer, Ebbsfleet United F.C., “Today (April 30th) is a truly significant day in our club’s great history and for the people and the communities of Northfleet and Gravesend. The outcome has been the result of many months of hard work and collaboration with the Gravesham Borough Council, our development partners and team and the project’s investors. We set about conceiving a plan and solution that would see our football ground developed to a leading standard that was feasible financially within a wider development and which also provided regeneration of services and contributed to an overall significant uplift to our local community and the Borough, reflecting the Council’s own regeneration strategy and legacy plan for the future generations. It’s a proud and exciting day to receive planning approval from the Gravesham Borough Council that will be the catalyst for such substantial investment into the Gravesham Borough and its communities.”

The granting of the outline planning consent will now see each phase of the project proceed to a detailed planning stage – and the club will update the supporters on the timeline and phasing of the project in due course.
