FIFA is looking for an Executive Director, Stadium and Venue Management in Canada for FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Zürich (Switzerland)-based the Fédération internationale de football association (FIFA) is the international governing body of association football, beach soccer and futsal. It was founded in 1904 to oversee international competition among the national associations of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
 

The Position

The FIFA World Cup 26™ will mark the first time that the tournament features 48 teams and will be hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States. It will be held from June 11th-July 19th, 2026.

The Executive Director will have to report organizationally to the Chief Tournament Officer of Canada with an additional operational link to the Executive Director of Operations of FIFA 26 Inc. USA, the ED, Stadium & Venue Management – CAN will be a key member of the FIFA26 Canada team, and lead the Stadium and Venue Management, Technical and Operational Services teams in Canada.

‘FIFA’ further stated that he/she will work in close collaboration with the counterpart teams in the United States and Mexico and other key individuals responsible for delivering the successful implementation of the Stadium and Venue Management components of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ competition. The role includes overseeing operational planning of FIFA Official Sites in the two Host Cities, mainly focusing on the two World Cup stadiums and a multiple number of Venue Specific Training Sites and Team Base Camps.
 
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Executive Director, Stadium & Venue Management – CAN for the FIFA World Cup 26™ includes:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction in the overall management and operations of stadiums during the FIFA World Cup 2026™;
  • Develop and implement comprehensive stadium operations plans, including infrastructure requirements, staffing, scheduling, and logistics;
  • Oversee all aspects of venue operations, including maintenance, cleanliness, security, safety, and compliance with regulations and standards;
  • Manage relationships with stadium owners, Host City Committees and the relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and coordination;
  • Ensure smooth event execution, including pre-event preparations, matchday operations and post-event activities;
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to deliver a seamless spectator experience, including ticketing, crowd management and hospitality services;
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of infrastructure upgrades, enhancements and renovations to meet FIFA standards and requirements;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with service providers, suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of services; and
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in stadium operations and leverage innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and fan experience.

 

Your Profile

 

FIFA Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or similar level of education in Business, etc;
  • Minimum of 12 years of work experience in stadium operations, etc;
  • Experience with stadium management;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage, lead and motivate teams;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills;
  • Fluent in English;
  • French proficiency is a plus; and
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
