The Filipino professional tennis player Alex Eala (the Philippines) is returning home bringing a year of history with her.

‘ESPN’ stated that the Filipina tennis star will headline Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan (the Philippines) on December 8^th.

Huge Crowd

The event is targeting a crowd of more than 52,000 fans inside the massive venue which could break the current attendance record for a tennis match.

Headline Match

‘ESPN’ further stated that hosted by Tatler Philippines the event will feature a headline match between Alex Eala and Indonesia’s Janice Tjen with both players looking to be part of another potential milestone for Asian tennis.

Alexandra Maniego Eala is a trailblazing Filipino professional tennis player. Reaching a career-high singles ranking of World No. 18 she holds the highest ranking ever achieved by a Filipino and Southeast Asian in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA – the principal organizing body of Women’s professional tennis) Tour history.

The Philippine Arena is a multipurpose indoor arena located within the Ciudad de Victoria tourism enterprise zone in the towns of Bocaue and Santa Maria, Bulacan, the Philippines. It is located about 30 kilometers (19 mi) North of Manila. With a maximum seating capacity of 55,000, the arena is the world’s second-largest indoor arena after the 75,000-seat KJC King Dome in Davao City, the Philippines (the Philippine Arena was the world’s largest since its opening on July 21^st, 2014, until the Dome’s opening on September 1^st, 2026).

The event is envisioned as a celebration of Eala’s rise and the sport’s growing following in the Philippines.

Alex Eala said in a statement, “Every time I play abroad, I carry the Philippines with me. To come home and play in front of our fans will be incredibly special. I want this to be a day where we celebrate our love for tennis, our culture and the young players who will take the sport forward. And if all of us come together, maybe we can make a little history too.”

Landmark Season

Alex Eala returns home after a landmark season that saw her claim her first WTA 500 (a middle-tier category of Women’s professional tennis tournaments on the WTA Tour) title, the Mubadala DC Open (an annual professional tennis tournament) in Washington D.C. (US) and make a breakthrough run at the Wimbledon (UK).

Washington Triumph

Her Washington triumph propelled her into the world’s Top 20 while her Wimbledon campaign saw her become the first Filipino in the Open Era (the current period in professional tennis) to reach the fourth round at the All-England Club (host venue for the Wimbledon Championships).

Eala will compete in tournaments in Singapore, China and Japan. She is also expected to represent the Philippines at the Asian Games in Japan.

The 2026 Asian Games, officially the XX Asian Games and also known as the Aichi–Nagoya 2026, will be a multisport event which will be held from September 19^th-October 4^th, 2026 around Aichi Prefecture in Japan.
