The Bundesliga team FSV Mainz 05 announced on April 19th that their home arena – the Mewa Arena in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany – will continue to be known as the Mewa Arena until 2031.

‘kicker’ stated that the above announcement was made shortly before the kick-off of the match between the FSV Mainz 05 and their peer team the VfL Wolfsburg on April 19th which ended in a draw at the Mewa Arena.

The FSV Mainz 05 or simply Mainz 05 is a German professional sports club founded in 1905 and based in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The Mainz 05 play in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system.
