Harvard Athletics (athletic club in Boston, Massachusetts, US) has entered into a new agreement with LEARFIELD Amplify to handle its outbound ticket sales efforts, as announced by Yulander Wells, Jr., the Crimson’s Deputy Director of Athletics – External Operations and Relations.

‘gocrimson.com’ stated that the relationship will provide Harvard Athletics with unprecedented support in its effort to provide a second-to-none gameday experience.

LEARFIELD Amplify brings decades of expertise to its partners, helping fill stadiums, improving the fan experience and driving revenue with three critical services: Ticketing, Development and Seating.

The Harvard Crimson is the intercollegiate athletic teams of Harvard College. The school’s teams compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. As of 2013, there were 42 Division I intercollegiate varsity sports teams for women and men at Harvard, more than at any other NCAA Division I college in the country.

gocrimson.com’ quoted Wells, Jr. as stating, “An important element of the student-athlete experience is having family, friends, the student body, alumni, the University, and the surrounding communities cheer them on. We are thrilled to have the expertise of Amplify support our efforts to increase ticket sales, increase attendance and broaden our community reach.”

The LEARFIELD Amplify team will work together with the Harvard Athletics staff to drive ticket sales, engaging with the greater Boston community and its surrounding area, with an aim to increase attendance.

Said Jake Bye, Executive Vice-President, LEARFIELD Amplify, “Harvard is one of the most iconic universities in the country, so we are humbled to have been selected to represent its brand. We look forward to working alongside the Harvard Athletics staff to increase attendance across all ticketed sports while providing tremendous customer service to the Crimson fan base.”

LEARFIELD Amplify represents nearly 40 partners nationally for outsourced ticket sales and more than 100 partners across its ticketing, seating and development businesses. By combining the best breed of technology, industry leadership and reputable sales and service staff, LEARFIELD Amplify works with universities and professional sports franchises to create engaged relationships with fans and to optimize revenue opportunities.

The Harvard University, meanwhile, fields an athletic program that is the largest and one of the most successful in Division I of the NCAA. With 42 varsity sports and over 1,200 varsity athletes, Harvard is fully committed to a well-rounded athletic program, consisting of club, intramural and recreation opportunities for all students. Athletics at Harvard builds community through the engagement of students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and creates a portal through which neighboring communities can enjoy the Harvard experience.

Harvard Athletics has a tradition of success and competitive excellence that began with the first intercollegiate athletic event (a rowing race) in 1852. Harvard teams have won 439 Ivy League championships overall and nine Ivy titles in 2021-2022. Harvard has produced 151 national championship teams, including two in 2021-2022. In addition, Harvard Athletics also serves an important role within the University by promoting principled leadership on and off the field, as well as integrating academics and athletics.

Founded in 1636 as Harvard College and named for its first benefactor, the Puritan clergyman John Harvard, it is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and among the most prestigious in the world.
