Safe space technology from Canada for Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg (Germany): Listed company Kontrol Technologies, based in Vaughan, North of Toronto (Canada), has become a new international partner to the Green-and-Whites.

The ‘VfL Wolfsburg’ stated that this will give the Wolves access to Kontrol’s BioCloud monitoring system, which analyzes the air quality in enclosed spaces in real time and detects viral and bacterial pathogens and other airborne contaminants at an early stage.

VfL Wolfsburg or Wolfsburg is a German professional sports club based in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony (Germany), which plays in Bundesliga (top of the German football league system). The club grew out of a multisports club for Volkswagen workers in the City of Wolfsburg.

The Volkswagen Arena is a football stadium in the German City of Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony. It was opened in 2002 and has been named after the automotive group Volkswagen AG. The Volkswagen Arena has a capacity of 30,000: 22,000 seats and 8,000 standing places and is the residence of VfL Wolfsburg.

Canada-based Kontrol Technologies delivers enhanced intelligence through Internet of Things (IoT) technology and solutions to create smart, healthy and sustainable buildings.

BioCloud

Said Michael Meeske, VfL Managing Director, “We are pleased to have brought on board a new, innovative partner in Kontrol Technologies, who through BioCloud will play a leading role in our future plans and actions for a safe experience in the Volkswagen Arena premises. Particularly in this day and age, the issue of air quality in enclosed spaces is hugely important, and we’ll be able to put a new and important emphasis on this with BioCloud.”

BioCloud prowess

Enthused Paul Ghezzi, CEO, Kontrol, “We are very pleased to make our entry into European professional sports, and the sport of soccer in particular, with such an accomplished partner as VfL Wolfsburg. We look forward to showcasing the BioCloud system and its many advantages of monitoring training rooms and facilities for early viral detection.”

Safe space technology

BioCloud is a real-time analysis tool which has been developed for the detection of airborne viruses. BioCloud has been designed to operate as a safe space technology by sampling the air quality continuously. If viruses are recognized by a ‘detection chamber’ – which can be replaced if needed – a warning is issued. BioCloud has been developed for spaces where people gather, such as classrooms, offices, retirement homes, hospitals and public transport, and should safeguard the health of VfL Wolfsburg’s teams, fans, visitors, and staff in its buildings.
