The American professional sports and commercial real estate company Oak View Group (OVG) and the ride-hailing company Lyft have entered into a multiyear national partnership aimed at improving transportation to and from live events across more than 75 venues nationwide.

‘TicketNews’ stated that the above deal names Lyft as the Official Rideshare Partner for the OVG-managed arenas, theaters and entertainment venues which collectively welcome more than 65 million fans each year.

The Oak View Group, LLC (OVG) is an American professional sports and commercial real estate company based in Denver (US). It manages several sports venues including the 18,300-capacity Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle which was constructed under the company’s supervision.

San Francisco (US)-based Lyft, Inc. is an American company offering ride-hailing services, motorized scooters and bicycle-sharing systems in the United States and Canada and via its Free Now mobile app, Europe. Lyft is the second-largest ridesharing company in the United States after Uber. It has 25 million active riders and coordinates nine million rides per day.

‘TicketNews’ further stated that the above partnership will see Lyft integrated directly into the guest experience at the OVG properties including members of the Arena Alliance and Theater Alliance. The fans will benefit from designated pick-up and drop-off zones, improved navigation within event apps and realtime traffic updates to streamline arrivals and departures.

Asserted Dan Griffis, President of Global Partnerships, Oak View Group, “At OVG, we not only create and manage iconic venues but we relentlessly focus on providing all the fans extraordinary experiences. Joining forces with Lyft delivers that commitment – removing friction points for the fans and helping them arrive safely, efficiently and with ease.”

Lyft will also receive brand visibility through in-venue signage, co-branded digital campaigns and the community engagement programs tied to sustainability and accessibility. The rideshare company’s integration with OVG’s national network will touch many of the most visited arenas, stadiums and theaters in North America.

Remarked Jeremy Bird, Executive Vice-President, Lyft, “Partnering with Oak View Group positions Lyft at the center of 65 million live entertainment experiences each year. We’re solving a critical transportation challenge at scale – turning every concert, game and show into an opportunity to demonstrate why Lyft is the smarter choice for getting there and back.”

The deal extends across 20 Arena Alliance and 20 Theater Alliance Members as well as 35 venues within OVG’s portfolio. OVG says the collaboration underscores its commitment to enhancing fan experiences and operational efficiency while fostering innovative partnerships in the live entertainment industry.

The OVG Arena Alliance is a program launched by the Oak View Group (OVG) in 2015 to help the major sports stadiums and arenas increase revenue by pooling resources and leveraging OVG’s relationships with the promoters to attract more concerts and events. The Member venues share resources to improve sponsorship opportunities and maximize their calendars with live entertainment content.

The OVG Theater Alliance is a program created by the Oak View Group (OVG) for the performing arts venues and the theaters. It provides benefits like collective buying power, improved routing of non-traditional content, shared resources, and sponsorship opportunities aiming to help the network’s top-tier Member Venues increase their revenue and buying power. The alliance was launched in early 2023 with an inaugural roster of 39 venues across North America.
