The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Executive Committee has confirmed that the Netherlands will have the honor of hosting the UEFA Nations League Finals for the first time.

‘UEFA’ stated that the Cities of Rotterdam and Enschede have been chosen by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) to host the matches, with the semi-finals taking place on June 14th and June 15th, 2023 and the third-place match and final scheduled for June 18th, 2023.

Nyon (Switzerland)-based the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is one of six continental bodies of governance in association football. It governs football, futsal and beach football in Europe and the Eurasian transcontinental countries of Russia, Turkey, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, as well as one Asian country Israel. UEFA consists of 55 national association members. Because of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIFA and UEFA suspended all Russian national teams and clubs from any FIFA and UEFA competitions.

The 2023 UEFA Nations League Finals will be the final tournament of the 2022-2023 edition of the UEFA Nations League, the third season of the international football competition involving the men’s national teams of the 55 member-associations of UEFA. The tournament will be held from June 14th to June 18th, 2023 in the Netherlands, and will be contested by the four group winners of Nations League A. The tournament will consist of two semi-finals, a third place play-off and final to determine the champions of the UEFA Nations League.

‘UEFA’ further stated that the draw to determine the semi-final pairings will take place in January 2023 in Nyon, with the exact date and time to be confirmed in due course. The Netherlands will be joined in the UEFA Nations League Finals by Croatia, Italy and Spain.

The UEFA Executive Committee also made the decision to award the hosting of UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2023 to the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) (the governing body of football in Hungary). The matches will take place at the 8,500-capacity Főnix Arena in Debrecen, Hungary, between March 16th and March 19th, 2023. Hosts Hungary will be joined by Portugal, Spain and Ukraine.

The 2023 UEFA Women’s Futsal Championship, also referred to as UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2023, is the third edition of the UEFA Women’s Futsal Championship, the biennial international futsal championship organized by UEFA for the women’s national teams of Europe.
