The Major League Soccer (MLS) team New York Red Bulls recently unveiled its new RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center in Morris Township, New Jersey (US).

‘newyorkredbulls.com’ stated that the chic complex which is the most innovative soccer training facility in North America will provide a leg-up to the club to attract and develop the crème de la crème for the organization. It will also provide holistic health facilities to the first team players and the Academy players as well as customized health care.

The New York Red Bulls are an American professional soccer club based in the New York Metropolitan area. The Red Bulls compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference.

The 25,000-seat Sports Illustrated Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, United States. It serves as the home of the Major League Soccer (MLS) team New York Red Bulls.

‘newyorkredbulls.com’ further stated that the RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center sits on an 80-acre land parcel and comprises eight full-size outdoor soccer pitches equipped with a mix of heated, irrigated natural grass and turf surfaces with one 350-seat match field designated for the Academy games.

The outdoor areas are fitted with avant-garde training technology including multiangle camera tracking systems for analytics and player development. Along with the first team and the Red Bull New York II the complex will also serve as home to the Red Bull New York Academy and the youth training programs.

The custom-designed facility features multiple gyms for both the professional and the Academy teams, a dining hall that includes spaces devoted to nutrition, a professional chef, academic spaces for youth education, and a comprehensive medical suite and innovation lab with physiotherapy spaces promoting best-in- class preventative health, rehabilitation and recovery.

The additional resources include the integration of the aquatic therapy spaces, innovative fatigue detection processes, advanced diagnostic modalities, and an ortho biologic system to support advanced treatment and clinical care.

Holistic Health Care

Dr. Gerardo Chiricolo, Managing Director (MD) for the New York Red Bulls will continue in his role as the club’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with a commitment to provide the Red Bulls players and the staff access to the best available supportive athlete care in close tandem with the club’s training staff and the athlete care team.

As announced in January, the RWJBarnabas Health is the official naming rights partner of the Performance Center.

West Orange (US)-based RWJBarnabas Health is New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive academic health system caring for more than five million people annually. Nationally renowned for quality and safety the system includes 14 hospitals and 9,000 affiliated physicians integrated to provide care at more than 700 patient care locations.

  • A full-service kitchen designed around providing high nutritional value meals for peak player performance;
  • Demonstration kitchen for chef and nutritionist to provide meal preparation education for the Academy and the professional players; and
  • The dedicated Academy spaces including change rooms and full locker rooms. The educational spaces for the Academy players and the youth programs including classrooms, study spaces and coaching clinics.
