Anaheim ocV!BE Entertainment District Nov 2020 Image: ocV!BE

ocV!BE – the premier mixed-use community and live entertainment district, is coming to Anaheim (California, US) in 2024. To this end, an official project application was filed with the City of Anaheim recently.

ocV!BE, stylized as ocV!BE, is a proposal by the Samueli Family, owners of the professional ice hockey team Anaheim Ducks and operators of Honda Center, to create a 95-acre campus with shopping, dining, sports, entertainment, open space, housing, offices and more. It would further Anaheim’s vision for the Platinum Triangle.

Platinum Triangle is an up-and-coming area known for professional baseball at Angel Stadium and big-name concerts at the Honda Center arena – home facility of Anaheim Ducks.

The Anaheim Ducks are a professional ice hockey team based in Anaheim, California. The Ducks compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Since their inception, the Ducks have played their home games at the Honda Center.

ocV!BE will consist of a $3 billion, 95-acre master-planned, mixed-use development surrounding the iconic Honda Center in Anaheim. The development will generate more than 10,000 construction jobs and more than 3,000 permanent jobs upon completion, as well as more than $2 billion in one-time economic impact prior to completion and more than $400 million in annual recurring economic impact.

ocV!BE will lend a holistic touch to the community and provide lifestyle amenities.

ocV!BE will also attribute for:

  • A concert venue which can pack in a crowd of 6,000;
  • Ten acres of publicly accessible parks including a more than four-acre wellness park and nearly five-acre riverfront park;
  • More than 30 eateries and a market hall with diverse food offerings to leave fans spoilt for choice;
  • A network of pedestrian bridges and walkways; and
  • Residential units totaling 1,500 and 8,000-plus parking spaces.

The development will bring more than $2 billion in one-time economic impact prior to completion and more than $400 million in annual recurring economic impact. The project will also bring in more than 860,000 square feet of office space to attract top employers and more than 235,000 square feet of retail offerings.

A joint statement issued by Henry and Susan Samueli stated, “We are proud to present ocV!BE, the exciting next chapter for Honda Center and the surrounding area. We are fully committed to Anaheim, and we believe this sustainable and integrated community will offer a unique and attractive lifestyle as well as create jobs, while also providing residents and visitors additional opportunities for premier live entertainment to complement our marquee Honda Center events.”
