The Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) track is recognized worldwide by its yellow and red rumble strips in the colors of Wallonia (French-speaking region of Southern Belgium).

‘Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps’ stated that from now on the run-off areas of the Raidillon of Eau Rouge (car racing track in Malmedy, Belgium) and of the Chicane (serpentine curve in a road), will also be adorned in new colors: Back-yellow-red, a clear nod to the Belgian flag!

The 70,000-capacity Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, frequently referred to as Spa, is a 7.004 km motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is the current venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, hosting its first Grand Prix in 1925, and has held a Grand Prix every year since 1985.

The Belgian Grand Prix is a motor racing event which forms part of the Formula One World Championship. The first national race of Belgium was held in 1925 at the Spa region’s race course, an area of the country that had been associated with motor sport since the very early years of racing.

‘Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps’ further stated that the national colors of Belgium are displayed on the run-off that was recently enlarged to the left of the track, from the Eau Rouge corner to the top of the Raidillon (the Raidillon is the steep fast right-hander which starts on the remain of the old Eau Rouge corner), crossing it so as to easily color the run-off that was enlarged this Winter to the right of the track. The run-off at the Chicane exit towards the starting line is also painted in the new national colors. These color arrangements will enhance the track even more.

A new aesthetic look for the two famous corners of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps which puts the finishing touches to the works completed up to last Spring, that allow the very highest safety standards for drivers to be maintained but also in order to obtain the double approval for the Ardennes Circuit from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM).

The Circuit des Ardennes was an auto race held annually at the Circuit de Bastogne, Bastogne (Belgium) from 1902 to 1907. It was the first major race to run on a closed course instead of from one City to another. The name was later used for a rally, part of the Dutch as well as the Belgian national rally championships.

The FIA is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading motoring organizations. Founded in 1904, with headquarters in Paris (France), the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) is a non-profit making association.

Mies (Switzerland)-based the International Motorcycling Federation (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme [FIM]) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions.
