Sporting Clube de Portugal has set out an ambitious 10-year vision which includes an overhaul of its José Alvalade stadium in Lisbon.

Sporting CP said the strategic vision for the next 10 years is made up of ambitious initiatives, which aim to transform the club into a unique, global and distinctive brand and entity.

Sporting CP, or simply Sporting or Sporting Lisbon is a Portuguese sports club based in Lisbon, Portugal. It plays in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football.

The 50,095-capacity José Alvalade Stadium is a football stadium in Lisbon, Portugal, home of Sporting CP. It was built adjacent to the site of the older stadium.

The stadium is named after José Alvalade (1885-1918), the founder and first club member of Sporting CP in the early 20th century.

Sporting said the 10-year project will take the fan experience to a new level making the stadium a hub of excellence in Portugal.

Part of the project involves filling in the moat at the José Alvalade Stadium, allowing for capacity to be expanded by an additional 2,000 spectators per event and bringing fans closer to the pitch.

A new water recycling system will also be installed for responsible management of water resources and as part of a journey towards an increasingly sustainable club.

Other improvements at the José Alvalade Stadium will consist of new lighting, LED rings and new screens, maximizing the excitement of home games through an immersive experience for all members and fans.

The stadium will be segmented into five zones – Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver – to simplify and optimize the understanding, communication and experience of members, fans and partners, the club said.

It will also buy back the Alvaláxia commercial space next to the José Alvalade Stadium that the club sold in 2007.

The area would be developed into an entertainment hub for Sporting CP, allowing the club to generate more revenue on match days and non-match days. It would also house a new club museum.

Meanwhile, Sporting CP said they are reinventing the matchday experience in the stadium with a new hospitality proposal for fans. Three new options are available to help fans make their stadium visit experience a memorable one.

VIP Lion Seats will give clients access to exclusive lounges and allow them to watch the players enter the stadium up close, and much more.

Deluxe and Premium offerings will be configured for a first-class experience on the second and third floors of the stadium, where a number of suites, loges and executive seats will be available.

Clients will have access to parking, fast tracking, exclusive lounges with gourmet catering, and much more.
