The first sporting event in the new multifunctional sports arena will be an ice hockey match. Not just any match, but a game between the Red Bull Munich and an NHL team. The name of the NHL team is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The SAP Garden can accommodate up to 11,500 spectators, with a maximum capacity of 10,796 for ice hockey matches. The main building measures 29 meters from the ice surface to the hall ceiling. From the 2024-2025 seasons, all Red Bull Munich home games will be played in the SAP Garden.
