The Government of Tucumán (Argentina) presented a mega project for a World Cup stadium for 50,000 spectators, which would be built in San Isidro de Lules. The province dreams of hosting the 2030 World Cup.

The City of San Isidro de Lules is located 20 kilometers South of San Miguel, the capital of Tucumán, Argentina, and 300 meters above the sea level.

‘24 Hours World’ stated that few days ago, the contract was signed to carry out the Executive Preliminary Project for the construction of the Unique Multipurpose Sports Stadium intended for 45,000 or 50,000 spectators and a majestic parking lot for 10,000 vehicles in Tucumán.

The new stadium will be modeled on the Mothers of Cities Stadium of Santiago del Estero in Argentina and for that purpose the architects who developed it – Jose Maria Luciani and Paul Campopiano – were hired. However, the Santiago stadium can only hold 30,000 people.

The 30,000-capacity Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades is a stadium located in the City of Santiago del Estero in the homonymous province of Argentina. The stadium was inaugurated on March 4th, 2021.

‘24 Hours World’ further stated that the new stadium will seek to meet all the requirements of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), FIFA and the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) to host national and international soccer matches, as well as Los Pumas, the national rugby team, who could be local in the framework of the Rugby Championship.

One of the main objectives of the Unique Multipurpose Sports Stadium is to be one of the venues for the 2030 World Cup. Original host Uruguay is submitting a joint bid for 2030 with Argentina, Chile and Paraguay.

The 2030 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 24th FIFA World Cup™, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men’s national teams of the member-associations of FIFA. The event will mark the centennial of the first World Cup.
