The new Wanda Mall in Chinese port city of Guangzhou, scheduled for a June 2019 opening, will feature an indoor ski resort, according to Bingxue Toutiao, a winter sports industry news sharing platform on Wechat.

As one of the four major areas of the 75,000-square meter business complex, the indoor ski resort will reportedly offer four ski slopes based on different levels of difficulty (Beginners, Amateur and Professional) and a 66-meter vertical drop. The longest snow track will stretch 460 meters in length and the resort will be able to host 3,000 skiers.

Media reports have also said that the resort’s construction was about to be completed, while snowmakers would be installed in the resort in December 2017 which would allow people to experience snow in this southern city which usually has a humid subtropical climate.

This June, Wanda Group opened their first indoor ski resort, Harbin Wanda Ski Park, in the Wanda Mall located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. According to the group, it is currently the world’s largest indoor snow park. A 15,000 square meter snow entertainment area is also featured inside the ski resort to provide families with all kinds of fun snow activities.
