Telecommunications company Nokia and Tampere Deck Arena (Finland) signed a landmark five-year naming rights partnership on November 19th. The contract includes an option to extend the partnership for an additional five years. Europe’s leading multifunctional sports, business and entertainment venue is now called Nokia Arena. The venue has up to 15,000 seats and is the first next-generation arena to be constructed right in the heart of the City.

The ‘Nokia Arena’ stated that opening in December 2021, Nokia Arena will host over a million visitors annually and is the main venue for the 2022 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Ice Hockey World Championship. The next-generation arena will be a home for innovative digital experiences and various major sports, culture and entertainment events and conferences. In addition, the arena includes a wide range of commercial offerings, including high-quality restaurants, shops and a hotel.

The 13,455-capacity Nokia Arena, formerly known commercially as UROS LIVE, is an indoor arena in Tampere in Finland that is currently under construction. It is planned to replace the old Tampere Ice Stadium and is scheduled to open in December 2021.

The 2022 IIHF World Championship will be hosted by Finland from May 13th to May 29th, 2022 as the IIHF announced on May 19th, 2017.

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey and in-line hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 81 member-countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments.

The ‘Nokia Arena’ further stated that offering state-of-the-art digital experiences at scale for customers of all ages and nationalities, Nokia Arena’s digital screens will altogether encompass 1.2 billion pixels, creating a highly immersive customer experience.
