For those waiting to find out if the seafood restaurant ‘Fred’s Fish Fry’ Center in San Antonio, Texas (US) will ever come to be, one will have to wait a little longer. The National Basketball Association (NBA) team San Antonio Spurs is continuing their arena naming rights agreement with the telecommunications company AT&T into the 2022-2023 seasons.

‘MYSA’ quoted sources as stating that the Spurs Corporation, unable to establish a new naming rights partner in conjunction with this season, is still continuing its search for a new naming rights partner.

The San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas (US). The Spurs compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The 18,581-capacity AT&T Center is a multipurpose indoor arena on the East side of San Antonio, Texas, United States. It is the home of the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

AT&T Inc. is an American multinational telecommunications holding company headquartered at Whitacre Tower in Downtown Dallas, Texas (US). It is the world’s largest telecommunications company by revenue and the third largest provider of mobile telephone services in the United States.

Sources stated, “They are still talking to a few folks. But for now, it’s still going to be the AT&T Center.”

‘MYSA’ stated that the quest to find a new naming rights partner kicked off late last year in November 2021, when the AT&T announced that it would not be renewing its longstanding deal, which officially expired after the 2021-2022 seasons. Since then, the Spurs have been working with the premium experiences company Legends Global Partnership, a group that has worked with the other NBA teams, to help identify the right company to rebrand the stadium and usher the team into a new era.

The stadium on the City’s Eastside first opened in October 2002 as the SBC Center, after the company agreed to a 20-year naming rights deal. The stadium was renamed in 2006 after AT&T acquired SBC.
