ASM Global appoints new Asia Marketing Director Image: ASM Global

The Chairman and Chief Executive of ASM Global APAC, Harvey Lister AM, have announced the appointment of Australian convention specialist and marketer, Beverley Parker, as the group’s new Director of Marketing.

‘ASM Global’ stated that a sales and marketing industry leader, Parker has more than 30 years’ experience in the highly competitive areas of tourism, events and hospitality.

Los Angeles, California (US)-based ASM Global is the world’s leading producer of entertainment experiences. It is the global leader in venue and event strategy and management – delivering locally tailored solutions and cutting-edge technologies to achieve maximum results for venue owners. The company’s elite venue network spans five continents, with a portfolio of more than 350 of the world’s most prestigious arenas, stadiums, convention, and exhibition centers, and performing arts venues.

From its Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Brisbane, Australia, ASM Global operates a network of venues that includes – Entertainment and Sports Arenas, Live Performance Theaters, Convention and Exhibition Centers, and Stadiums.

‘ASM Global’ further stated that Parker will combine her new role as Director of Marketing, ASM Global Asia Pacific with her current position as the Director of Business Development at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney (Australia) where she has successfully applied her wealth of experience in the international business events sector.

The 9,000-capacity International Convention Centre Sydney is an exhibition and convention center which opened in December 2016, in Sydney, Australia. ICC Sydney is the most visited center of its kind in Australia. Created as a multipurpose event space, ICC Sydney has over 70 meeting rooms, three theaters and two formal ballrooms.

The Group’s Chairman, Harvey Lister, said Parker’s outstanding track record of enhancing and ensuring the success of some of Australia’s foremost organizations will be invaluable in her new role – “Parker brings a depth of industry knowledge and ability as well as strong leadership credentials to her expanded role and we look forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Commenting on her appointment, Parker said it had been a great privilege to be part of the pre-opening team at ICC Sydney helping to establish the venue’s reputation on the global stage and looked forward to applying that same passion and enthusiasm for the industry in her new role – “I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the next stage of ASM Global’s story in the Asia-Pacific as Director of Marketing.”

Parker takes up her role on March 1st, following in the footsteps of long-term ASM Global team member Rochelle Uechtritz, who spent 29 years and a number of secondments at ASM Global venues around the world.

Lister expressed his sincere and heartfelt thanks to Uechtritz and wished her well for her future retirement.
