The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A team Botafogo FR and the diversified technology company Philips have entered into a partnership to provide tech teeth to the top-flight’s home ground – the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – by installing upgraded television sets in the facility.

‘botafogo.com.br’ stated that the fans can now enjoy an enhanced viewing experience and the above move reinforces the ‘O Glorioso’s’ commitment to offer an enriching in-venue experience to its supporters.

The Botafogo FR is a Brazilian sports club based in the neighborhood of Botafogo in the City of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Although it competes in different sports Botafogo is mostly known for its association football team which plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top tier of the Brazilian football league system. The Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos serves as their abode.

The 46,931-capacity Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos is a stadium located in the neighborhood of Engenho de Dentro in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It serves as the home pitch of the Botafogo FR.

The Royal Philips is a diversified technology company focused on health technology with a strong presence in healthcare, consumer lifestyle and lighting. Founded in 1891 it is headquartered in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and operates in over 100 countries. Philips aims to improve people’s lives through meaningful innovation, particularly in healthcare, and has undergone significant restructuring to focus on this area.

‘botafogo.com.br’ quoted Marcelo Furtado, Commercial Director, SAF Botafogo, as stating, “The above partnership best demonstrates our commitment to lend a state-of-the-art look to the Botago FR home and offer first-string facilities to the fans. We will continue to work on this front and will further strive to enter into commercial deals with the renowned companies who never compromise on quality.”

The SAF Botafogo refers to the Botafogo FR’s transition into a Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF), a legal structure in Brazil that allows the football clubs to operate as companies. This transition, formalized in December 2021, involved a change in the club’s legal status to become a limited company enabling it to attract investment and potentially become more financially viable.

Asserted Bruno Morari, Marketing Director, Philips Audio and Video, “We are a well-established and very active brand in the national sports scene supporting events and initiatives that promote development and innovation in Brazilian sports. We are proud to contribute to the modernization of the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos thus providing an enthralling experience to the fans and the guests. The above agreement reached goes to prove that both the Botafogo FR and Philips are on the same page when it comes to providing the fans an out-of-the-world experience while they are inside the venue. We will continue our efforts to make the Botafogo home a top-notch arena.”
