It’s hard to take a selfie at a ball game. When you hold out your phone, you’re likely to knock over someone’s beer – or even worse, drop your phone into the orange goop (semi-fluid matter) of someone’s ballpark nachos.

‘DALLAS INNOVATES’ stated that luckily, the Major League Baseball (MLB) team Texas Rangers fans will have a better option during one of their upcoming games. Thanks to a new partnership among the Texas Rangers (US), sponsor Justin Boots and the Minneapolis-based Fancam, fans can find themselves after the home games in a 360-degree gigapixel “one-of-a-kind” interactive crowd photo.

The Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex (region in Texas, US). The Rangers compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League West division.

The 40,300-capacity Globe Life Field is a retractable roof stadium in Arlington, Texas, United States. It is the ballpark of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers. It is located just South of the 48,114-capacity Choctaw Stadium, the Rangers’ former home ballpark.

Fort Worth, Texas (United States)-based Justin Boots is an American Western and equestrian footwear brand. It is a division of Justin Brands, Inc., itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. is an American multinational conglomerate holding company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Its main business and source of capital is insurance, from which it invests the float in a broad portfolio of subsidiaries, equity positions and other securities.

As the global leaders in 3600 gigapixel photography, Minneapolis, Minnesota (US)-based Fancam has been helping brands and teams connect with their fans since 2010. Over 3,000 events captured across six different continents. Fancam provides fans the opportunity to turn every game into something to celebrate. No more emphasizing only tent pole events, every game is worth sharing!

‘DALLAS INNOVATES’ further stated that after the games, fans can go online to see the 360-degree photo from the game they attended. Then they can mouse around and zoom in to find their faces in the crowd, tagging their names with a Texas Rangers logo. Saving the memory forever is just a screenshot away – but it’s the zooming in and out that’s most fun. (Almost as much fun as watching the first-place Rangers in one of their best seasons ever. Recently, the team’s record stood at 58-39 after a six-game win streak, the third-best record in all of baseball).

Commented Chad Wynn, Texas Rangers Vice-President (VP) of Business Partnerships, “Through Fancam’s unique gigapixel photos, the Texas Rangers and Justin Boots are creating an entirely new way for guests to commemorate their experience at the Globe Life Field. This partnership offers the best fans in baseball another opportunity to showcase their Rangers fandom by tagging themselves and friends in these one-of-a-kind crowd photos that capture the gameday experience.”

Fancam says it captured a number of Texas Rangers games earlier in the season. The first iteration of the Justin Boots activation happened on July 1st against their peer team Houston Astros.

The activation will happen again on September 23rd in Rangers fixture against their peer team the Seattle Mariners.

Rachel Goodger, Chief Revenue Officer of Fancam, sent out a statement which read, “We’re excited to be providing Rangers’ fans the unique ability to find and share their photos from the ballpark, and look forward to continuing this activation for the team this season and beyond. Incorporating Fancam into the gameday experience is a fantastic opportunity for both the Rangers and Justin Boots to connect with their fans in a personal way.”
