The Premier League team Everton F.C. has welcomed the Italian giants – the Serie A team AS Roma – to Merseyside for a special pre-season friendly at the club’s new digs – the Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool, England (UK) – on August 9th (3pm kickoff).

‘Everton Football Club’ stated that following the hugely successful restricted capacity test events that introduced the fans to the state-of-the-art ground this fixture will be the first at Everton’s stunning waterfront home with every seat at the 52,888-capacity Hill Dickinson Stadium available – acting as both the final test event and the final pre-season outing for David Moyes’ (Manager of Everton F.C.) side before the start of the 2025-2026 Premier League campaign.

The Everton Football Club is a professional association football club based in Liverpool, England (UK). The club competes in the Premier League, the top tier of English football.

The 52,888-capacity Everton Stadium, currently known as the Hill Dickinson Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium at the Bramley-Moore Dock in Vauxhall, Liverpool, England (UK). It will be the new home ground of the Premier League club Everton F.C. from the 2025-2026 seasons replacing the Goodison Park.

The 39,572-capacity Goodison Park is a football stadium in Walton, Liverpool, England (UK). It was the home of the Premier League club Everton F.C. from 1892 until 2025. It is now the home of the Everton’s women’s team. It is two miles North of the City Centre.

The AS Roma is a professional football club based in Rome, Italy. Founded by a merger in 1927 the Roma has participated in the top tier of Italian football (Serie A) for all of its existence except for the 1951-1952 seasons. The 70,634-capacity Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Italy, serves as their residence.

‘Everton Football Club’ further stated that the fixture also marks the first opportunity for the Season Ticket Members to sit in their selected 2025-2026 Season Ticket seats at the Hill Dickinson Stadium making it an opportunity not to be missed for the thousands of ‘Blues’ (Everton fans).

The supporters will be invited to make the most of this historic day with ‘The Plaza’ opening at 12 pm.
