New hospitality experience at Chelsea FC Image: KSS

Eminent design practice KSS have been working with the Premier League team Chelsea Football Club (UK) on the renovation of the West Stand concourse and Upper Tier seating of their digs – Stamford Bridge – to create their newest premium ticket experience for both season ticket holders and match-by-match ticket purchasers.

‘KSS’ stated that its latest work with the club continues the design practice’s long-term relationship with ‘The Blues’ which started way back in 1991. Westview is the most significant development to the West Stand since 2001, and forms part of the hospitality offering at the club in some of the best seats in the stadium.

KSS is an award-winning AJ100 architecture and design practice, celebrating 30 years in 2021. With offices in Central London and Kent (UK), it is one of the leading sports stadia and training center architects with a strong presence in residential, education, commercial, hospitality, and workplace.

Andy Simons, Founding Director, KSS, UK, is a Member of Coliseum – Global Sports Venue Alliance.

Chelsea Football Club is an English professional football club based in Fulham, West London (UK). Founded in 1905, the club competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football.

Stamford Bridge is a football stadium in Fulham, adjacent to the borough of Chelsea in South West London (UK), commonly referred to as ‘The Bridge’. It is the home of Premier League club Chelsea. The capacity of the stadium is 41, 837 making it the ninth largest venue of the 2019-2020 Premier League seasons.

‘KSS’ further stated that launching ahead of the 2021-2022 seasons, Westview includes two new 360-degree bars and four food destinations within a dedicated food hall, offering an enhanced menu from the Golden Bake, Fire House, Hot Stone, and Smokestack. KSS designs for the new destination will enhance the guest journey from ground level arrival adding a fresh dimension to the Chelsea brand.

The matchday experience will also be improved with three new, big screens in the stand, ensuring seats in all locations can view screen content for the first time. All seats will be replaced with new, improved seating, while a wheelchair-accessible platform has also been installed with four wheelchair and companion places.

KSS is hoping that the project completion and launch will happen later this summer.
