A preliminary feasibility study was carried out recently to build a new home ground for the Polish professional football club Raków Częstochowa.

‘CZESTO CHOWA’ stated that the study findings focused on a 15,000-capacity stadium for the Raków and zeroed in on the former Elanex site which formerly housed a large factory complex dedicated to the textiles industry. The venue would be completed in circa five to six year time and the price tag of the arena would stand at PLN 443 million.

The Raków Częstochowa, or simply Raków, is a Polish professional football club based in Częstochowa that competes in the Ekstraklasa, the top professional men’s football league in Poland.

The 5,500-capacity Raków Municipal Stadium is a football stadium in Częstochowa, Poland. The venue is located at the 83 Bolesław Limanowski Street in the Raków district. It is the home ground of the Raków Częstochowa football club.

‘CZESTO CHOWA’ further stated that the Agraria Company which conducted the study examined four different locations where the Raków new home could come up – the site where the 16,850-capacity Arena Częstochowa sits in Częstochowa, Poland, the site where the present home of Raków is located, agricultural plots on Wojska Polskiego Avenue in the Wyczerpy-Aniołów District in Southern Poland, and the former Elanex site on Krakowska Street in Kraków, Poland.

The Elanex site was found to be the most apt location where the new home of the Raków could come up. The study found the Elanex area to be well-developed and well-connected and with new roads being constructed by the City it will further boost the connectivity part.

Constructing a state-of-the-art stadium with tech trappings in the former Elanex area would open up geyser of opportunities. Building the stadium in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode would hold the entire development in good stead.

Circa PLN 443 million would be the price tag of the new Raków stadium along with the parking area (700-800 vehicles can be accommodated).

The City and the representatives of the club will now do a deep dive of the above study.

The study findings were presented by the representatives of the Agraria CompanyWiesław Smolec and Sebastian Kulik – on September 10th at the Częstochowa City Hall, Poland, in the presence of several dignitaries.
