Sevilla FC to transform training ground into corporate hub

The Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios sports city will be transformed into a new corporate hub. This announcement was made by Spanish top-ranking football club Sevilla.

The entire upgrade process price tag will be €20 million (US$22 million). The improvisation process will take between three to four years to get completed and will span 260,000 square meters.

An accommodation with 40 rooms, dining area, health center, training pitches and a gym will spread across 60,000 meters of area to be used by the first team.

Eight football fields, split between three artificial grass surfaces and five natural grass ones, will be a part of the build out process. The capacity of the Jesús Navas Stadium, home to Sevilla’s reserve and women’s teams, will also be increased.

As part of the restoration work, corporates offices will be built which can hold up to 400 employees. Further offices will be built under another of the stadium’s stands.

A gym, swimming pool and a new soccer pavilion will come up for players not in the first team. It will make up 3,500 square meters of the site. Auxiliary buildings such as press room, cafeteria and meeting area has been allocated 3,000 square meters of space.

As work on the project will not be over until the summer of 2023, Sevilla aspires that construction be carried out in phases. This would make the going smooth for the club’s players and staff who train and work out there.

José Castro, President of Sevilla, said, “The club’s income comes from the first team, for the most part. Without a doubt we have had enough income to allow us to carry out this project. We have spent €10 million on the training ground already, and as part of the new investment we will spend another €20 million. We have also spent approximately €15 million on the stadium.”

“Our growth will not stop. We are aware that one day we will need another training ground for the academy. We have started talking to the council in Dos Hermanas to expand what we have. However, we will continue to meet with them and hopefully reach an agreement that makes sense,” Castro further commented.

Apart from investing in the new corporate hub, the club has plans to expand the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium by adding a third ring to their 43,000-seater home.
