Roig Arena signs deal with LG Image: Roig Arena and LG

Roig Arena which is under construction in Valencia, Spain, has signed electronics giant LG as a technology partner.

Digital AV said the Technology Alliance will make the Roig Arena one of the most advanced spaces in Europe in AV systems, with 1,700 square meters of LED screens and more than 500 LCD monitors throughout the venue, to offer a unique experience to visitors.

The 18,600-capacity Roig Arena, previously proposed as the Casal España Arena, is expected to open in September. It will serve as the home base for both the men’s and women’s Valencia Basket Club teams.

Valencia Basket Club S.A.D., commonly known as Valencia Basket, is a professional basketball team based in Valencia, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB, the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system and they currently play their home games at the 9,000-capacity Font de Sant Lluís in Valencia. The club is owned by the retail tycoon Juan Roig.

The Roig Arena project has a budget of more than €280 million, financed entirely by Roig, president of Mercadona, from his personal assets.

The large multipurpose covered arena will be used for sporting events, as well as entertainment and corporate events.

Digital AV further stated that an outdoor LED screen in the shape of an ‘eye’ and an interior screen of 76 meters, as well as a versatile four-sided central video scoreboard, will be among other innovative visual systems.

One of the highlights is ‘The eye’, a spectacular outdoor screen offering 300 square meters of LED, located on the northwest façade of the arena at the Main Entrance for the public to the Roig Arena.

Inside, LG will install a versatile central video scoreboard of more than 250 square meters, formed by four LED panels, with a rounded finish on its corners to create consistent images without loss of viewing quality.

In addition, this innovative LED video scoreboard is able to drop to ground level out of sight with no disassembly required, adapting to the needs of each event held at the Roig Arena.

The venue will also have a large LED screen of 520 square meters for concerts (76 meters wide), that will offer an immersive visual experience to all attendees.

As part of this audiovisual project, a 100 square meter LED screen will be installed behind the stage and will serve as support at musical events to show images or videos of the artist.

A ribbon LED perimeter will also encircle the venue, providing information, advertising and animation.

The combination and integration of the innovative architecture venue launch with LG Solutions will transform the way attendees experience live entertainment, guaranteeing a high-quality visual experience, with the best image quality.

Guillermo Calvo, Business Solutions Director of LG Spain said, “The development of the Roig Arena represents an exciting challenge, since it will allow us to show all our capacity for innovation on screens, with an incomparable deployment.

“This is our most ambitious project in the visual field and we are tremendously proud to contribute to the creation of one of the most technologically advanced venues in Europe.

“This sponsorship solidifies our position as a leader in the development of cutting-edge display solutions for the entertainment sector and is a good reflection of our motto Life’s Good that inspires us to improve people’s lives through technology.”

Víctor Sendra, General Manager of Roig Arena, added, “Our partnership with LG, a leading global company in technology solutions, helps us meet our goal of create a landmark arena that delivers an unmatched user experience.

“This investment in innovation will enhance the impact of the events hosted by the venue, positioning ourselves at the forefront of the industry.”
