Parson to manage Jeddah Central stadium Image: Jeddah Central Development

The American company Parsons has been selected to oversee the management of the Jeddah Central Stadium in Saudi Arabia, an exciting addition to the Saudi Arabian sports landscape.

A ‘LinkedIn Post By Khaled AlOjyan, Project Manager, Diriyah Gate Project’ stated, “This iconic venue, located in downtown Jeddah, will serve as one of the main stadiums for the 2034 FIFA World Cup™. With a seating capacity of over 46,000 the stadium will host a wide array of international sporting events marking a significant milestone for the City and the nation (Saudi Arabia).”

Founded in 1944, Chantilly (US)-based the Parsons Corporation, a digitally enabled solutions provider, is focused on creating the future of the defense, intelligence and critical infrastructure markets. From Earth to the outer space they deliver tomorrow’s solutions today.

The Jeddah Central Stadium is a FIFA-compliant football stadium being developed as part of the Jeddah Central Project in Saudi Arabia. It’s designed to be a major landmark in the project hosting both the local and international sporting events including matches of the 2027 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup and the 2034 FIFA World Cup™. The stadium will have a capacity of 45,000 seats and is designed to blend modern technology with traditional architectural elements inspired by Jeddah’s historic Al-Balad district.

The Jeddah Central Project is a large-scale development in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, aimed at creating a world-class destination and enhancing the City’s economy.

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)-based the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is the governing body of association football, beach soccer and futsal in most countries and territories in Asia. The AFC was formed in 1954. It has 47 members.

The 2027 AFC Asian Cup will be the 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Asia organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament involves 24 national teams after the expansion in 2019. It will be held in Saudi Arabia from January 7th-February 5th, 2027.

The 2034 FIFA World Cup™ will be the 25th FIFA World Cup™, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the Men’s national teams of the member associations of FIFA. In December 2024 Saudi Arabia was formally confirmed as the host nation by FIFA following an uncontested bidding process. It will be the third tournament to be hosted in Asia after South Korea and Japan in 2002 and Qatar in 2022. Saudi Arabia will be the second host nation from the Arabian Peninsula in the space of 12 years. It will also be the first time the tournament will be hosted by a single nation since 2022.

A World-Class Sporting Venue

The ‘LinkedIn Post By Khaled AlOjyan, Project Manager, Diriyah Gate Project’ further stated, “The Jeddah Central Stadium is set to be a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate both local and global events. The stadium will feature cutting-edge technology, modern amenities and a sleek, contemporary design that blends seamlessly with the local architectural style. The project aims to not only provide a premier venue for football but also elevate the standard of sporting infrastructure in the region.”

A Hub for Health and Well-Being

“The stadium is part of a larger vision to create a world-class Sports District in Jeddah, a space dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical well-being. Along with the stadium the district will include lush gardens, expansive open green spaces and a variety of sports fields. This design encourages community engagement through physical activities enhancing the quality of life for the residents and the visitors alike. The stadium will be a central piece of this vibrant district becoming a key destination for the sports enthusiasts and a hub for both local and international competitions.”

Supporting Saudi Athletes and the Future of Sports

“The Jeddah Central Stadium is more than just a sports venue. It represents a commitment to fostering the next generation of Saudi athletes. The development of the stadium underscores the importance of sports in Saudi Arabia’s entertainment and well-being culture. By providing world-class facilities and infrastructure the project will pave the way for the thousands of athletes to pursue professional careers in sports creating opportunities for growth and development in the Kingdom.”

“The Jeddah Central Stadium stands as a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s dedication to sports, health and global collaboration. With its modern design and strategic location it will not only be a centerpiece of the 2034 World Cup but also a key asset in Saudi Arabia’s long-term vision for sports and well-being.”
